On the 22nd, in episode 345 of KBS2's 'Sadanggwi' broadcast, Jun Hyun-moo was shown returning triumphantly to the KBS announcers' office for the first time in 14 years to celebrate winning the 2025 KBS Entertainment Awards. That day Jun Hyun-moo said, "This is the first time since I left the company. I wanted to return to my alma mater and express my gratitude to those who have supported me," and returned to the KBS announcers' office with rice cakes he ordered himself.
When Jun Hyun-moo entered the KBS announcers' office, he was greeted warmly by numerous senior and junior colleagues, bringing a warm smile. Among them, announcer Kim Bo-min, who is three years his senior, gave an enthusiastic welcome and revealed a special connection that drew attention: Jun Hyun-moo was the first to cover the scene when Kim Bo-min, a 2002 World Cup star's wife after marrying player Kim Nam-il, gave birth to her first son.
Regarding this, Jun Hyun-moo said, "Senior Kim Bo-min deliberately allowed the interview if I came as a reporter. That helped solidify my position as a reporter for Entertainment Weekly. I was so grateful," expressing thanks to Kim Bo-min for looking out for him, which warmed the atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Kim Bo-min recalled a difficult period during a long KBS strike, saying, "There was a time when KBS was on strike for a long time," and revealed, "At that time Jun Hyun-moo donated 20 million won," surprising everyone. Kim Bo-min added, "It was so much that we even returned some of it."
To this, Jun Hyun-moo said, "It was burdensome," adding, "(But) I was an announcer too, so I know. If you don't get paid even for one month, you're immediately worried about card bills," expressing concern for colleagues who had not received pay for a long period. At the time, Jun Hyun-moo, who won the MBC Entertainment Award, in his acceptance remarks said, "I fervently hope that spring winds will blow in my hometown," offering encouragement to his KBS family and moving many. Um Ji-in said, "That was a great comfort at the time," expressing special gratitude.
Hearing this, Park Myung Soo also said, "I too had a hard time during the strike when I didn't receive appearance fees. Jun Hyun-moo said, 'If you're having a hard time, tell me. I'll lend you money.' It felt like frost melting in midwinter. Jun Hyun-moo has a good character," acknowledging Jun Hyun-moo's loyalty.
Later, meeting with Deputy Minister Han Sang-kwon, Jun Hyun-moo said, "I want to do something the announcers' office really needs," referring to the award cake. Seizing the moment, Um Ji-in said, "The coffee machine is older than Kim Jin-woong's hire date," and Jun Hyun-moo replied, "Then its flavor might be richer," brushing it off, while Kim Jin-woong said, "Our shared computer is old," and Deputy Minister Han Sang-kwon comforted the juniors, saying, "This building is over 50 years old, so what can you do," noting that because of KBS's nature everything is bound to be old. Jun Hyun-moo retorted, "Then change the building?" prompting laughter.
Deputy Minister Han Sang-kwon especially noted, "This is the first time someone from our office has won the award. It's the first even among those who started as announcers," mentioning his award remarks. At the time, Jun Hyun-moo said, "In entertainment, the hardest part is having to make others laugh when I'm the one who is hurting. These days in 2025 I've been personally very exhausted," and moved viewers by revealing the difficult recent days of nursing his ill father and traveling back and forth to the hospital.
Regarding his acceptance remarks at the time, Jun Hyun-moo said, "In entertainment, I have to be happy to do it. Honestly, these days I'm not in my right mind," adding, "I have to bury my personal sorrow too. That's a bit hard," drawing attention. He also added about his father's condition, "(My father) is being well cared for."
