DJ DOC Kim Chang Youl was denied entry into Japan.
The Dokdo Love Movement Headquarters and Kim Chang Youl said on official social media on the 22nd, "Japan is once again carrying out Takeshima Day (=false Dokdo day) this year. Therefore, I visited Shimane Prefecture on the 19th with ambassador Kim Chang Youl to survey the site of Dokdo historical distortion occurring in Shimane Prefecture, but I was denied entry to Japan as a retaliatory measure over Dokdo," they said.
A representative of the Dokdo Love Movement Headquarters said, "Ambassador Kim Chang Youl was deported back to Korea upon entry on the grounds of a 1999 drunk driving record, and I was detained under the pretext of a five-hour interview and baggage search, but in the end I was denied landing because of Dokdo promotional activities," and added, "But I have now reached a situation where I cannot even secure a flight back to Korea immediately. The airport staff consistently took an irresponsible stance, saying they are not a 24-hour airport and that I should consult with the airline, and they kept insisting I discuss it with the airline."
They also claimed, "I alone had to bear about 2,200,000 won in costs, including accommodation fees and the wages of two private security guards due to the entry refusal. I sought help from the Korean consulate, but I could not get assistance, and Korea was not there when a Korean citizen needed it," and argued, "Although I have had no problems visiting other Japanese airports in the past, this entry refusal is political retaliation by Japan to prevent Dokdo-related figures from visiting on Takeshima Day and a targeted inspection."
Finally, they emphasized, "The headquarters strongly condemns this irrational act of retaliation and says Takeshima Day, which is being held today, must be abolished, and Japan must apologize to Dokdo," and added, "What are they so afraid of... If they were confident, they would not have to do this. I consider this an outright denial of entry to Korea, and we will not remain idle."
Meanwhile, Kim Chang Youl is serving as an ambassador for the Dokdo celebrity promotion team.
