That day, appearing as a guest on "요정식탁," Han Jimin recounted an episode from early in her debut. She said about her rookie days, "It was never something I was born with. I was bad at acting. I passed the audition but 'all-in' and things like that, and I was scolded a lot. At that time it was a period of being scolded a lot. I was scolded a lot. I felt for the first time that because of me the shoot was delayed and I was causing inconvenience. I had never been scolded like that in my life, but I was scolded terribly. So I came home and think I cried every day. So I thought I shouldn't go through such hardship and cause others trouble, but because All-In was such a well-made production and it was a new character, they cast me again," she revealed about the difficult situation.
In the next work, 'Dae Jang Geum,' she said, "I cried more and was scolded more." Han Jimin explained, "I was the lead but didn't know anything. For example, we shoot many cuts. If I ate a potato while delivering this line, when they change the cut I have to eat it the same way when delivering that line. If I ate with my left hand but then eat with my right hand, it causes a big problem. They didn't tell me that."
She said, "These days, I think those things are set as basic, but I knew nothing at all. They were like, 'let's see how she eats,' so I ate deliciously, and they asked why I ate differently. I thought I ate deliciously just like before — what does this mean? I worked hard and ate it deliciously, but I didn't know that it was wrong. That's because when they splice editing cuts, if she ate and then suddenly her hand is here later, it looks strange. They said it's to match the continuity."
She also shared her grievances about this. Han Jimin said, "I always think I want to be natural. I don't want to calculate while acting. Especially in drinking scenes where I really drink, I want to loosen up and act. We loosen up when we drink. We often film drinking scenes while actually drinking. But if they tell me to act exactly the same as before, I have no memory of whether I did it like this or when I tossed my hair. So even when I'm drunk I have to calculate to some extent, and because I don't want to perform acting that includes that calculation, I always seem to struggle between the two," she said, describing the dilemma.
In particular, Han Jimin recalled being astonished by unreasonable staff demands, saying, "If it stands out too much, they'll tell you to do it again," and "One anecdote is that I told a director something on behalf of a rookie friend: my tears fell from the right earlier, but he wanted me to let them fall from the right again this time."
