Singer Kim Jong Seo opened up about his feelings on living apart from his family for a long time.
On the 21st episode of the talk show Sokeulpiso Dongchimi, the discussion proceeded under the theme 'the closest person is the scariest.'
On that broadcast, Kim Jong Seo said, "It's been about 20 years since I started living apart from my family." He said, "It was very difficult at first. But when the body grows distant, the heart seems to grow distant too."
He added, "I meet my family once or twice a year, but when I actually go, there isn't much conversation. There should be stories that naturally accumulate from living together, but when you meet after a long time it's awkward."
In response, Lee Seong-mi said, "There are reasons to oppose living apart from family. As time passes, people become indifferent. There are fewer things to say, and if you lose touch with the children, they can feel like strangers," expressing empathy.
Kim Jong Seo said, "My family has already talked about everything, so there's no room for me to intervene. If I say something, they say, 'Dad doesn't know,' " conveying his bitter feelings.
Hearing this, Kim Jang Hoon said, "I have to go back soon, but they said they don't want me to come," which drew laughter, and Kim Jong Seo looked embarrassed. <
