Jun Hyun-moo's donation of 20 million won to colleagues during the 'KBS strike' was revealed.
On the 22nd broadcast of KBS2's "The manager's ears are donkey ears" (directed by Choi Seung-hee/hereinafter "The Manager's Ears"), Jun Hyun-moo returned to the KBS announcer's office in triumph to celebrate winning the "KBS Entertainment Awards" for the first time in 14 years.
That day, as Jun Hyun-moo entered the KBS announcer's office, Kim Bo-min, an announcer who is three cohorts senior to Jun Hyun-moo, appeared.
While mentioning her connection with Jun Hyun-moo, Kim Bo-min recalled the difficult period of the long strike, saying, "There was a time when KBS went on strike for a long time," and revealed, "At that time Jun Hyun-moo donated 20 million won," surprising everyone. Kim Bo-min testified, "It was so much that we tried to return it."
In response, Jun Hyun-moo said, "It was a burden," and added, "(But) I was also an announcer, so I know. If you don't receive your salary for even a month, you're immediately worried about credit card bills," revealing his concern for colleagues who had not received pay for a long period.
At the time Jun Hyun-moo, who won the MBC Entertainment Awards, said in his acceptance speech, "I earnestly hope that spring winds will blow in my hometown," offering encouragement to his KBS family and providing a touching moment. In response, Um Ji-in said, "That was truly a great comfort at the time," expressing special thanks.
Hearing this, Park Myung Soo also said, "I too had a hard time during the strike when I didn't receive appearance fees. Hyun-moo said, 'If you're having a hard time, tell me. I'll lend you money.' It felt like ice melting in midwinter. Hyun-moo has a good character," adding and acknowledging Jun Hyun-moo's loyalty.
