Hong Soo-hyun reunited with Lomon after her life had been turned upside down.
Hong Soo-hyun, in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "No Tail to Tell" (written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, directed by Kim Jeong-kwon, planned by Studio S, produced by Binge Works and Mog Film), no longer shows the career she once had as a football agent; she appears as Hong Yeon-su, an ordinary supermarket employee, piquing viewers' curiosity.
In that episode, Hong Yeon-su appears as a supermarket employee and brings big laughs when she becomes entangled with Eun-ho (played by Kim Hyeyoon). After seeing the fake ID Eun-ho presents to sign a contract, she begins calling Eun-ho "Kim Ok-soon." In particular, the scene in which she refuses to back down and responds to Eun-ho, who speaks to her informally, with "Our Kim Ok-soon is generally a bit curt, isn't she?" provoked uproarious laughter. Hong Soo-hyun added energy to the drama with a playful, tasteful comic performance, maintaining a quick back-and-forth with Kim Hyeyoon.
When Eun-ho makes a calculation mistake and the bill doesn't balance, Hong Yeon-su warmly comforts her, saying, "This happens sometimes. Don't worry too much," which moves Eun-ho. But she quickly shows her instinct from her agent days by insisting, "You just have to pay the money back," and thoroughly calculating the hourly wage and the missing amount. In this way, Hong Soo-hyun completed a three-dimensional character with flexible acting that switches between kindness and cold calculation.
Meanwhile, in episode 10 she met Kang Si-yeol (played by Lomon), who had felt like family. The changed-life Hong Yeon-su remembered him as someone she briefly met nine years ago, but Si-yeol showed special affection by even bringing the rice cake tteokbokki that Yeon-su likes. Hong Soo-hyun sensitively expressed the bittersweet feeling of simultaneously feeling familiarity and wonder toward Si-yeol, who knows preferences her husband does not, creating a poignant moment.
Kang Si-yeol asked Hong Yeon-su, now a supermarket employee, to help find a sponsor for his team, and Yeon-su was surprised by the sudden proposal. The sight of Yeon-su, whose career had been interrupted by marriage and childcare, brightening up at the prospect of chasing her dream again resonated deeply with viewers and added to the poignancy.
Later, Hong Yeon-su learns that Geumsu Group sponsors the fourth-division league that Kang Si-yeol belongs to, and she meets Lee Yoon (played by Choi Seung-yoon), creating tension for future developments. With solid acting skills that make her presence felt in every scene, viewers are eager to see what kind of impact Hong Soo-hyun will make and how she will bring more enjoyment to the drama.
Meanwhile, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama No Tail to Tell, in which Hong Soo-hyun's subtle acting can be seen, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
