Cha Ga-won, chairman of p_Arc Group and CEO of Wonhundred, has denied the facts amid allegations that she was subject to a provisional seizure over unpaid luxury shopping bills totaling 3.6 billion won.
On the 20th, it became known that Cha Ga-won's equity in one of four luxury villa units in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with her husband, was seized by the Seoul Western District Court.
In particular, attention grew as Cha Ga-won's creditor was reported to be Hanwha Galleria Co., Ltd. Hanwha Galleria Co., Ltd. operates the Galleria department store located in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which is famous for selling luxury goods. The amount the company claimed from Cha Ga-won at this location was said to be about 3.6 billion won, adding to the shock.
However, Wonhundred denied the facts related to this matter. Wonhundred, referring to the initial report, issued an official statement saying, "The report contains content different from the facts, and we believe it may infringe on the honor and rights of the company and specific individuals."
It also said, "Considering that this matter is already closely related to legal procedures, we have refrained from making official statements until now," and emphasized, "The company is actively pursuing legal measures, including civil claims for damages and criminal accountability, in relation to this report."
It added, "Real estate provisional seizures filed against two individuals have been accepted by the court, and legal procedures have already been initiated and are in progress," and stated, "YouTube videos related to the matter were reported as containing false content and as intentional attacks against specific individuals and have been removed from the platform, and the company is also pursuing additional legal responses to clarify the facts and the overall circumstances of the reporting."
Wonhundred also said, "Rather than continuing to dispute each individual report one by one, we believe it is desirable for the facts and responsibility to be clearly determined through judicial procedures. In the future, we will disclose our position through official releases only to the extent necessary depending on the court's rulings and the progress of procedures."
Cha Ga-won is the CEO of the entertainment agency Wonhundred. She has previously been embroiled in allegations of fraud involving sums in the 10 billion won range, alleged affairs and debt relations with singer MC MONG, and allegations of unpaid amounts in the 5 billion won range involving Wonhundred's artists EXO-CBX, Taemin, and The Boyz. However, Wonhundred denied the related allegations as unfounded and rebutted that the unpaid claims are "under normal discussion."
