Kim Kwang-kyu revealed his turbulent life story.
On the 21st broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night' (hereinafter Day & Night), Kim Dae-ho and Kim Kwang-kyu appeared.
Moon Seyoon said, "Mr. Kim Kwang-kyu owns a 60-pyeong house in Songdo," and Kim Kwang-kyu said, "To be precise, it's 49.9 pyeong. Once an article called it '60-pyeong owner' so it kept being reported that way. It's exactly 50 pyeong," he said.
Kim Kwang-kyu candidly said, "If you go from a goshiwon to a one-room and a semi-basement, you think, 'someday I'll live in a big house.' After living in a big house, I found I didn't need it. Who you're with is what matters. There are many rooms. It's scary. When a sound comes from an empty room. When an armoire collapses while sleeping. Things fall from the sink. Then I can't sleep that night."
Kim Ju-ha asked about the jeonse scam, and Kim Kwang-kyu said, "I was eating when someone knocked and told me to pay monthly rent. I had moved in on jeonse. I ran like crazy to the real estate office, but the desks were all gone and the belongings were removed. Then someone came in saying, 'Give me my money,'" he said.
He continued, "That time was very painful. My appearance fees started at 30,000 won and I lost 11 years of savings to the jeonse scam. Of that, 30 million won was borrowed. It was a 120 million won jeonse. I was so distraught and cried so much. I wanted to kill the jeonse scammer. I still haven't received it. The trial lasted three years. It was very hard," he said, recounting the difficult period.
Kim Kwang-kyu said he also tried virtual currency, saying, "I tried everything others did. I copied them and got ruined. Stocks were ruined too. Jeonse was ruined as well."
He went on, "When I turned 20 I started at a shoe factory. I saved money by driving a taxi, working as a waiter, working as a sales representative and as a peddler, and I lost that money in stocks. I went to the end. I went to the Han River a lot then. I cried as soon as I heard the song 'Yanghwa Bridge,'" he said, revealing that he visited the Han River during difficult times.
Kim Kwang-kyu said he almost fell victim to voice phishing. He said, "When I bought the Songdo house my funds were tight. I received a text in the name of a commercial bank saying the government was providing emergency housing funds. I went almost to the loan stage. They even asked for my password, so I stopped," he said, making the atmosphere heavy as he recounted the many twists and turns of his life.
