Cha Ga-won, chairman of p_Arc Group and CEO of Won Hundred, denied allegations of 3.6 billion won in luxury shopping and provisional seizure.
On the 20th Won Hundred issued an official statement saying the reports about Chairman Cha Ga-won's financial relations that surfaced that day "contain information that differs from the facts and may infringe on the honor and rights of our company and specific individuals."
However, Won Hundred said that "considering this matter is already closely connected to legal proceedings, we have refrained from making an official statement until now," and explained that "the company is actively pursuing legal measures related to this report, including civil claims for damages and criminal liability."
It added that "the real estate provisional seizure applied for against two related persons has been granted by the court, and legal procedures have already begun and are underway," and said "the related YouTube videos have been removed from the platform after reports were filed that they contained false content and were intentional attacks against specific individuals, and the company is simultaneously pursuing additional legal measures to clarify the facts and details of the reports."
Won Hundred said, "Rather than arguing each individual report, we judge it is preferable that the facts and responsibility be clarified through judicial procedures. Going forward, we will only issue official statements through press releases as necessary according to the court's rulings and the progress of procedures."
That day one media outlet reported that the Seoul Western District Court on the 9th seized Cha Ga-won's stake in one of four luxury low-rise apartment units in Hannam-dong, Seoul, jointly owned by Cha and her husband. It added that the creditor is Hanwha Galleria, which operates the Galleria department store in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, and that the claimed amount reportedly reached about 360 million won, adding to the shock.
The following is Won Hundred's full official statement.
