Actor Shin Sae-kyeong praised co-star Park Jeongmin, astonished by the action and romance in the film "Humint."
On the afternoon of the 20th, Shin Sae-kyeong appeared as a guest on MBC Radio's live broadcast "Noon Hope Song, I'm Kim Shin-young" (abbreviated as Jeonghee). Shin Sae-kyeong shared behind-the-scenes stories related to the recently released film "Humint" (director Ryu Seung-wan, distributed/provided by NEW, produced by O-yu-nae-gang) with DJ Kim Shin-young.
"Humint" opened on the 11th and is meeting audiences. It gained momentum at the box office, especially during the Lunar New Year holiday, passing 1 million viewers. In response, Shin Sae-kyeong said, "I was very grateful. We've been doing a lot of stage greetings. We all heard (the news of 1 million) together on the bus while moving," expressing her joy.
In particular, Shin Sae-kyeong emphasized director Ryu Seung-wan, saying, "I did everything the director told me to do. He is such a good person." Above all, she confessed that she was nervous from the reading despite receiving praise after the release, saying, "I am most scared of readings. It was the same for 'Humint' and for any drama; readings are scarier than the first shoot. I still get nervous at the full reading where all the seniors gather."
Shin Sae-kyeong delivered a strong performance as Chae Seon-hwa, a North Korean foreign currency-earning hostess, in "Humint." The film also features actor Zo In-sung as NIS agent Director Jo, delivering a performance torn between cold missions and human dilemmas; Park Hae-jun as Hwang Chi-seong, the North Korean consul general in Vladivostok, portraying a ruthless villain; and Park Jeongmin as Park Geon, head of the North Korean State Security Department, showing intense action.
Meanwhile, Shin Sae-kyeong and Park Jeongmin drew attention with their romantic performances. Earlier, Park Jeongmin had said, "Among the celebrities I've seen so far, the prettiest person is Shin Sae-kyeong." Shin Sae-kyeong humbly replied, "He was probably saying that to be nice to a colleague who went through hardship with him," expressing modesty.
However, she praised Park Jeongmin's charm, saying, "He is actually a person with so many charms. He's a bundle of charm. It's hard to pick one. From what I saw and felt on set, he has tremendous concentration. He seems to be a very wise person who makes very prudent judgments in everything," and added, "Above all, while watching the monitoring this time, as an audience member I was able to see a new side of him that I hadn't seen before, which felt refreshing." Kim Shin-young chimed in, "Those who want to crave Park Jeongmin's romance should definitely see it," adding to the curiosity.
Finally, Shin Sae-kyeong revealed her inner thoughts through a speed quiz with Kim Shin-young. She picked the "first meeting scene" with Park Jeongmin as the most memorable romantic scene in "Humint," answering, "The aftertaste was deep," drawing empathy.
She also said, "I won't do action for my next project," adding, "Seeing it up close, I felt it was a much greater feat. It was not an ordinary job. It wasn't something just anyone could do," expressing astonishment at the intense action in "Humint."
She also mentioned Song Hyekyo as a co-star she would like to film a women-led romance with, saying, "Honestly it's just a hope. Isn't it difficult to talk about someone you really like? I'm such a fan," confessing her fandom and raising expectations.
"Humint" is a work that depicts people with different objectives clashing in Vladivostok, where both secrets and truths are submerged in a cold sea of ice. It is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
