The influencer Baek Jin-gyeong, known as "Honorary Briton," who has 1.57 million SNS followers, announced she will take a tough stance, calling the allegations circulating online "blatant falsehoods."
Baek Jin-gyeong's agency said in a recent official statement, "The related content currently posted and spreading on SNS and online is a blatant falsehood that does not at all correspond to objective facts."
It added, "The baseless distorted content is severely damaging the honor of the artist and the company and constitutes illegal acts with malicious intent."
The agency said it will take strong legal action, including immediate civil and criminal lawsuits, against the author of the post without any settlement or adjustment. It also requested refraining from secondary spread, saying, "Acts that share or rework and distribute the false content may also be subject to the same legal liability."
The agency, which said it is currently collecting and preserving related evidence, added, "We will hold those who spread falsehoods and engage in malicious defamation fully accountable under the law and principles without leniency."
