Choo Shin-soo's wife Ha Won-mi revealed how she cleans their large U.S. mansion.
On the 18th, a video titled "[U.S. episode] How do you clean a 5,500-pyeong house in the U.S.?" was uploaded to Ha Won-mi's YouTube channel.
That day the production staff asked, "There were a lot of comments on the U.S. house video. Did you see those comments?" and Ha Won-mi said, "I saw them. People were very worried about cleaning. They ask how we clean, but usually we hire a company and have a major cleaning about once a month. That's like a deep clean, and normally when our family is here the family cleans together, and I take care of the spaces used every day. So cleaning isn't particularly difficult or anything," she explained.
She said, "Right now the whole family is here, and since we have all the people, we have to make use of the staff, so today we're going to clean this sports complex. When the kids are all together." The production staff asked, "How is the sports complex mainly used?" and Ha Won-mi said, "If you saw the previous video, it's labeled a baseball museum. So you can see the walls are lined with my husband's archive, but not only that, it's multi-purpose: there's a basketball hoop so there's a half court. i-dle also all play baseball, so they practice batting and that's all indoors. The kids need to lift weights so there's a separate weight room," she said.
She continued, "In a way it's the space the kids use the most. And dad too. Since the kids use it the most, if they used it they should clean it. All together. The space is very large. We're going to take it easy together," and added, "Cleaning isn't as hard as people worry it is."
Afterward Ha Won-mi moved to the sports complex to clean, and the production staff asked, "Could you show us the kids exercising?" Ha Won-mi introduced a weight area set up on one side, saying, "The kids exercise here. This is the kids' weight room. They do it every day. This is where baseball players were raised and developed." When asked, "Did your sister design this too?" she replied, "The floor plan itself was my husband's. He knew what equipment he needed, so he arranged it that way."
When Choo Shin-soo brought the vacuum cleaner, the actual cleaning began, and they started deep cleaning by adjusting the netting set up for batting practice. The production staff were surprised, saying, "I thought it was fixed," and Ha Won-mi joked, "If you raise the net like this you can use this as one space. You could even hold a reception here." When asked, "How long has it been since you did a deep clean like this?" she admitted, "Raising the net and doing this like this is almost the first time in two or three years. We kept it down and lived with it."
Afterward the Choo Shin-soo family used a vacuum to tidy the artificial turf, then rolled up the turf to clean the floor. A silhouette of Choo Shin-soo painted on the floor appeared and caught attention. Earlier Ha Won-mi had said the thing she most wanted to show in the sports complex was, "When we built the house we made the basketball area and painted it. We wanted to leave something for ourselves, so we enlarged my husband's signature swing form and painted it on the floor. It gives the feeling of 'This is Choo Shin-soo's house.' We added a red border," she had said. Accordingly Ha Won-mi showed affection by personally wiping the floor bearing Choo Shin-soo's image together with the kids.
The production staff said, "I could never do this alone," and Ha Won-mi emphasized, "You can't do it alone. Even five people would be exhausted." After finishing the cleaning, the Choo Shin-soo family gathered and watched a variety show together on the gym's large TV, adding warmth with their smiling faces.
