Comedian Park So-young shared an update about being worried after experiencing uterine contractions during pregnancy.
On the 18th, a video titled "pregnancy coming out, ultrasound photos, even uterine contractions! chaotic and hectic 8-week pregnancy vlog" was uploaded to the channel 'Jubudaessoyoung'.
In the video, Park So-young visited a hospital. She said, "Last Thursday I went to the obstetrics and gynecology clinic?? There were some uterine contractions, and they said it was okay, but my mind... I've been getting an ultrasound every four days. I don't know how many times this is. I have to endure and wait, but it's hard. At my usual hospital I'd have to wait another four days to go. I couldn't stand it. So I'm going to a nearby obstetrics and gynecology clinic to get an ultrasound now," expressing her anxious and restless feelings.
After returning from the hospital, Park So-young explained, "The doctor was worried. It's okay to come often for ultrasounds, but it seems there is a limit to how many times medical expenses are covered. It depends on the week of pregnancy. I also have to have the NIPT test and will still have many hospital visits, so I asked them not to use health insurance today and just bill me, and it came to about 90,000 won. Last time it was ?? won. I asked them not to check the medical subsidy and paid for the ultrasound out of my own pocket," she said.
Showing the ultrasound photos, Park So-young said with relief, "Can you see it? This area had uterine contractions so the gestational sac became narrow and I was very worried, but it became round again." and added, "The gestational sac has also expanded well. Now I really have to be careful. I feel like I've become an overly fussy mother. Four days ago when I saw it, it was 2.5 cm. Today it grew to 3.3 cm. It's amazing. Today it was wriggling like this. It moved its legs too. So I'll feel reassured and go to the doctor at the clinic I was originally supposed to visit in four days for a checkup," she said.
After that, Park So-young revealed her pregnancy to those around her, including her husband Moon Kyung-chan, and at eight weeks she visited the public health center with her pregnancy confirmation document. At the health center she received a mother badge and gifts, and she showed emotion, saying, "Today is the eighth day of August, and in the meantime I had slight bleeding at the infertility clinic and had a small follicular cyst, so I had been continuing the vaginal suppository. But the doctor looked at today's ultrasound and said I could stop the suppository and said, 'You could graduate,' and that felt like the happiest moment since I started coming to the hospital. I thanked them and left, and there was a nurse there who wrote 'congratulations on graduating' on the billing paper, and I almost burst into tears a second time but barely held them back," she said, choked up.
She expressed gratitude, "When I went to pay, there was a mid-length-haired staff member sitting there who had always explained things really well when I paid at the infertility clinic or when I had questions, so I wanted to thank her. She was there. Fortunately I was able to pay with her, and I gave her the paper saying, 'I wanted to see your face and thank you,' and she kindly said first, 'You're graduating. Others take their documents, would you like me to prepare them for you?' I actually didn't know what documents to take when being discharged. But she printed out all the documents I had received from the hospital so far. She printed the referral form and a copy of the medical records and everything," she said.
She continued, "Because I was worried, I had delayed getting the National Health Support Card until now. That staff member said, 'Make the card quickly,' so I finally applied. I learned a lot from her. She took care of everything and even wrote that letter. I'm so grateful. And I always put off going to the health center because I was more worried than thinking I should go get these things. Finally, at eight weeks I went to the health center. They gave baby socks and a bib as a gift. At our health center they give gifts like this. They also provided a maternal handbook and folic acid. Many benefits are prepared. My husband organized it all at once," she said.
She said, "I always hoped and wished that a day like this would come to me, and now that it's actually happening, I'm so grateful and I have so many thoughts like, 'Is it growing well every day?' So until the stable period, I'll try to stay careful and keep only good thoughts. I hope good news always accompanies everyone who supported and loved me in the comments," she said.
Meanwhile, Park So-young married baseball player Moon Kyung-chan in 2024. Afterward, she tried in vitro fertilization for a second child and suffered the pain of a chemical miscarriage once, but she then achieved a dramatic natural pregnancy and has received many congratulations.
