Singer Hwang Young-woong will take the solo stage at the 54th Gangjin celadon festival's "Sound of Celadon Concert" on the 28th.
At the Goryeo Celadon Museum area in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, where the Gangjin Celadon Festival is held from the 21st of this month to the 2nd of next month, Hwang Young-woong will perform a solo stage at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
Gangjin County, the organizer, will open the festival on the 21st with performances by Ahn Sung Hoon, Choi Su-ho and Seo Ji-o, followed on the 22nd by Son Bin Ah, on the 1st of next month by Kim Yong Bin and Geum Jan-di, and on the 2nd by the Motnani triplets and Hyun Jin-woo, continuing performances, and Hwang Young-woong will take the solo stage on the 28th to heighten the festival's excitement.
This event draws attention as Hwang Young-woong's first official external appearance. An event official said, "About 8,000 people are expected to attend the performance on the 28th," and noted, "Of these, about 5,000 have booked nearby accommodations and restaurants, so securing rooms is currently not easy." It was reported that about 170 vehicles, including tour buses wrapped with Hwang Young-woong's face, have also been reserved, and banners announcing Hwang Young-woong's performance have been hung across Jeollanam-do, adding to the festival atmosphere.
Interest in Hwang Young-woong is also evident in the size of his fan cafe. The official fan cafe "Paradise" recorded 62,563 members as of the 14th, a size that ranks high among male trot singers' fan cafes following Lim Young-woong, Kim Ho-joong, Le Chanwon and Park Seo-jin. New members have continued to join steadily, maintaining an upward trend.
Earlier, Hwang Young-woong recently issued an official statement and proactively explained by releasing his school records. It has been about three years since he last took the stage at a local government festival, when he left MBN's "Burning Trotman" in 2023.
After the Gangjin festival, Hwang Young-woong has received more than a dozen performance offers, and appearances on terrestrial music shows are reportedly also being negotiated.
Meanwhile, a Gangjin County event official said, "We are making every effort to ensure safety management because a large crowd is expected that day," and Hwang Young-woong's security team will also make thorough preparations to prevent safety accidents by strengthening on-site route checks and personnel allocation.
