Italy influencer Damiano Alberti has died at the age of 23.
On the 16th (local time), his family announced the sad news on Alberti's Instagram. The family mourned, saying, "Damiano is free from everything he went through. A part of us has flown away forever."
Alberti first revealed that he had been diagnosed in May 2023 with a malignant tumor in his leg. At the time, he said he had a treatment plan and that he would candidly share his battle.
The following year he detailed his chemotherapy process in a YouTube video and reflected on his year under the title "365 Days Later - The Story of My Illness." He openly shared photos from the hospital and the treatment process and communicated with fans.
Just five months ago he announced his hospitalization and said he would temporarily suspend content activities.
He expressed his desire to return, saying, "It is a forced rest, but I want to come back. My desire to keep creating content is stronger than anyone else's," and indicated his intention to resume live broadcasts.
A few days later he left a composed note about his health, saying, "It was a tough week, but this is also part of my life." He also thanked fans, saying, "Now is the time to move forward again."
His last post was a photo of him holding a takeout coffee in London, England.
Because the cheerful caption read "London between birthday, love and overbooking," fans' sorrow was even greater.
The deceased gave courage to many with a positive attitude even while battling illness. Fans have expressed their condolences in comments, saying, "I can't believe it," and "a person who taught me a lot." Short but intense 23 years. Alberti documented his life to the end and was with his fans.
