Group DRIPPIN's Cha Jun-ho continues his global acting career.
Cha Jun-ho will appear as Im Min-jong in the drama 'Stove League,' which will be released on Japan's Lemino (OTT) and WOWOW (TV) on Mar. 28.
'Stove League' is a Japanese remake based on the 2019 SBS drama of the same name. It depicts the fierce challenges the team's front office undertakes during the offseason as a newly appointed general manager (GM) with no baseball experience sets out to rebuild a perennial last-place professional baseball team.
The Im Min-jong role played by Cha Jun-ho is a professional baseball player, a character reconfigured by borrowing the narratives of characters from the original during the remake process. Attention is focused on how Cha Jun-ho will portray a character with a different nuance from the original setting.
'Stove League' drew attention when news broke that a Japanese remake would be produced following the Korean version that caused a sensation. Since last year's U+ Mobile omnibus drama 'First Love,' Cha Jun-ho has been expanding his range as an actor, confirming casting for the next project 'I became my favorite's housemaid' after which he will appear in the high-profile 'Stove League.'
Having built his position with stable acting and natural Japanese skills while moving between Japan and Korea, Cha Jun-ho is expected to show what further charms he has as an actor by portraying the realism unique to sports dramas and a character's growth narrative in 'Stove League.'
Meanwhile, the drama 'Stove League' featuring Cha Jun-ho will be released on Japan's Lemino (OTT) and WOWOW (TV) on Mar. 28.
