broadcaster Shin Jeong-hwan shared his recent situation with candid talk.
On the 15th, a video titled "Shin Jeong-hwan appears during filming, two men's chewy honest talk" was posted on the YouTube channel "Gyang Shin Jeong-hwan." In the video, Shin Jeong-hwan made a surprise appearance as a yakgwa brand model and carried on an unreserved conversation with the CEO.
That day Shin Jeong-hwan laughed, "This is my first time as a dessert model in my life. I've done hamburgers and chicken, but this is my first time with yakgwa." He continued, "I gave a lot to family, acquaintances and fans. I also sent some to Chaerina, who appears on SBS "Golddaenyeo," and everyone liked it so I felt good," he said. He also directly mentioned yakgwa sales performance. He previously said he had sold 500,000 yakgwa.
But after the laughter came an honest confession. Shin Jeong-hwan recalled, "My life was a mess from my early 20s. I traveled to the provinces every day at a young age, performed on broadcast stages without resting, had explosive moments, and survived meals with gimbap·tteokbokki·hamburgers in a modified van," he remembered. He added, "Because I danced intensely every day, my insides started to fail from my 20s. I may look young, but inside I was rotten," he revealed.
He said, "I apply sunscreen very often, and I started taking care of my health from my mid-to-late 30s," and added, "I don't eat snacks, things with a lot of sugar, or carbonated drinks. I eat mostly foods that are easy to digest."
About his current activities, he said, "I do a lot of programs. I am appearing on cable TV and YouTube, among others."
Meanwhile, Shin Jeong-hwan was sentenced to eight months in prison in 2010 on charges of gambling abroad and was paroled after serving time. At the time he claimed he contracted dengue fever in the Philippines, but it was revealed to be false and fueled controversy. He later married a woman 12 years his junior in 2014 and has a son.
