Actor Ha Yoon-Kyung is delivering the performance of "the best of the best of the best," cementing her reputation as a "reliable actor."
Ha Yoon-Kyung played the role of Go Bok-hee in the tvN weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong (directed by Park Sun-ho / written by Moon Hyun-kyung / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Celltrion Entertainment, Studio Dragon), and she moves through a range of emotions with ease, making it impossible to look away for a moment. Contrary to her prim and cold first impression, her performance, which perfectly captures Go Bok-hee's reversal as someone with deep affection and a warm inner heart, has continued to receive praise.
In particular, Ha Yoon-Kyung drew attention by fully embodying Go Bok-hee when she let out a fierce roar while exposing the identities of Hong Geum-bo (Park Shin-hye) and Kang No-ra (Choi Ji-soo), making viewers smile one moment and then instantly turning her gaze to one filled with hurt and resentment.
Ha Yoon-Kyung was also adept at portraying the emotional change Go Bok-hee experienced after Kim Mi-sook (Kang Chae-young) lost consciousness, even though Go Bok-hee had to be selfish to achieve her personal goals. She navigated the stages of confusion and change Go Bok-hee went through at an appropriate pace, playing a decisive role in suggesting that a new flow had begun in Undercover Miss Hong after the turning point.
When she said, "I'll show you exactly what the best of the best of the best is," and her eyes sparkled, the solidity of Go Bok-hee, a former embezzler(?), came through; and when she comforted Kim Mi-sook's daughter by saying, "A princess's life is originally lonely and hard, but you have to get through it," the kind and warm humanity of Go Bok-hee was added.
Ha Yoon-Kyung enhances the character's appeal by bringing out Go Bok-hee's inscrutable facets as intricately as her complicated past, using delicate expressiveness in her tone, facial expressions and gestures. Her acting, which blends harmoniously into the work while also shining, is the reason she is receiving attention.
Meanwhile, Undercover Miss Hong heightened the tension as the story unfolded with Go Bok-hee joining Hong Geum-bo's plan to embezzle slush funds to save Hanmin Securities. Attention is focused on whether Go Bok-hee, who joined the thrilling revenge play drawing on her past experience(?), can ultimately move toward a happy ending.
Undercover Miss Hong airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m.
