Actor and singer Maiya Hawk tied the knot on Valentine's Day.
Maiya Hawk and singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson rang wedding bells on Feb. 14 at St. George's Episcopal Church in Manhattan, New York.
The ceremony was truly a star-studded event. Her father, actor Ethan Hawke, appeared in a black suit carrying a white bouquet and walked out with his daughter, taking Maiya's hand and escorting her down the aisle. Her mother, actress Uma Thurman, also attracted attention in a radiant light blue floral dress.
Members of the Netflix series "Stranger Things" cast especially attended in large numbers. Fellow actors Finn Wolfhard, Joe Keery, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink and Natalia Dyer, among others, were on hand to bless the bride and groom.
After the ceremony, guests moved to The Players Members Club for the reception. The couple reportedly enjoyed a long party amid congratulations from guests.
Maiya (27) and Hutson (35) were first linked in 2023 when they were photographed kissing in New York. They later developed a romantic relationship while working on music together. Hutson is a singer-songwriter known for an album he worked on with Phoebe Bridgers, and he also contributed to Maiya's albums Moss and Chaos Angel. Maiya also appeared as a featured artist on Hutson's album, collaborating as musical partners.
The two are reported to have developed from friends into romantic partners after about four years of friendship. In a past interview, Maiya expressed affection, saying, "I strongly recommend dating a friend. You already know and understand each other."
Maiya Hawk is the eldest daughter born to former spouses Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. She also has a son, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke. The presence of half siblings at the ceremony added to the family significance.
The couple's Valentine's Day wedding concluded amid a romantic atmosphere, receiving blessings from family and colleagues.
Meanwhile, Ethan Hawke married actress Uma Thurman, whom he met on the set of the film Gattaca, in 1998. They divorced in 2005, and Hawke later married Ryan Shawhughes (Hawke), a former nanny who was 12 years his junior and a Columbia University student at the time, in 2008; she had cared for the children he had with Uma Thurman.
However, rumors resurfaced that the two had had a secret relationship during Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman's marriage, stirring controversy. In response, Ethan Hawke told The Guardian in 2009, "There was no sleazy thought or behavior at the time. My marriage collapsed because of many pressures unrelated to Ryan. People imagine a 'Sound of Music type' romance, but by the time Ryan and I fell in love, it had been a long time since I had hired her."
But Uma Thurman denied this, and allegations of an affair between Ethan Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes intensified. Ethan Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes have two daughters and continue their marriage.
