Broadcaster and businessman Cho Young-goo shared surprising news about his recent condition.
On the 14th, a video was posted on the YouTube channel 'GREE' showing Cho Young-goo giving a phone update. In that setting, Kim Gu Ra expressed concern while mentioning Cho Young-goo's past investment choices.
Kim Gu Ra said, "It's regrettable that despite many pieces of advice from those around him, he stubbornly refused to relent until the end," and Cho Young-goo, who is reported to have lost 5.6 billion won in the past, reflected on his past choices, saying, "Honestly, I had a lot of doubts," and "If I had cut my losses and moved then, I might have made a profit, but I kept clinging to stocks that ultimately could not recover."
However, Cho Young-goo's attention had already turned to a new business. He said he recently developed a "screen park golf" machine. He added, "This time I want to show that I will definitely succeed in business," and vowed, "I plan to invest all the money I've saved into this," saying, "I'll liquidate my savings and all assets and stake my life on this time," which drew surprise.
In response, Kim Gu Ra said, "Stop it already. What on earth is this guy trying to do?" expressing worry. The production team also found it hard to respond to Cho Young-goo's decision.
Cho Young-goo previously revealed that after suffering massive losses he even experienced health problems. Nevertheless, he did not waver in his determination to try again and showed an attitude of taking responsibility for his own choices.
Meanwhile, Cho Young-goo is also famous as a diet icon.
In 2010, Cho Young-goo participated in a celebrity diet survival competition and, to win the grand prize of a family trip to Guam, endured a grueling schedule while following a diet and exercise regimen. As a result, he lost an astonishing 15 kg in six weeks and won first place in the competition.
After the diet ended, Cho Young-goo continued to exercise occasionally to maintain his figure. However, one day while working out at the gym he suddenly lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital; on a broadcast he said doctors told him that if he had been a little later, he would have died.
At the time, Cho Young-goo revealed, "I still don't know the exact cause. I'm afraid I might die in my sleep, so I can't sleep," exposing the feelings he kept in his chest. He added, "Because of the rapid diet I am experiencing presbyopia and hair loss. I randomly got Botox and fillers because my face lost elasticity, but they didn't have much effect," and said that at the time he suffered a rapid loss of facial fat and skin sagging, the so-called "candle wax aging."
In 2017 he appeared on MBC's "Radio Star," listing procedures he had done on his face while saying, "My mother cried when she saw me on the broadcast," and confessed, "I've had every procedure available in Korea," turning pain into laughter.
