Singer Ailee said she is preparing for in vitro fertilization amid a busy schedule.
On the 14th a video titled "first pregnancy preparation, the times I could endure because we were together" was uploaded to the Illine marriage diary channel.
That day Ailee had finished all the ovarian stimulation injections and was about to undergo egg retrieval. In response to her husband Choi Si‑hun's question "how do you feel since it's just before retrieval?" she honestly confessed "I'm scared."
Choi Si‑hun asked, "how do you think your body is?" and Ailee complained, "I don't have flu-like symptoms but it's just swollen here and that hurts so much. Yesterday I had a stage and I had to jump and run, but every time I ran it hurt so much. So I couldn't run," adding, "my (stomach) is swollen. It hurts so much. Is it sticking out this roundly?" as she expressed her pain.
Not only that, but because it was the day of egg retrieval Ailee was in a condition where even walking was difficult. While walking up the hospital stairs Ailee said "it hurts so much" and struggled, and even after arriving at the hospital she could barely sit on the couch.
Choi Si‑hun asked, "you've been fasting so it must be hard. What do you want to eat most?" and Ailee confessed, "I want to eat galbitang" and "I also want to eat galbijjim." Afterwards she went in for egg retrieval with an uncomfortable gait, and Choi Si‑hun said with regret, "my wife went in and I collected the semen and came out. She has been fasting since yesterday and since it's the day right before retrieval she said even sitting was very hard and walking was hard and she briefly woke up in the early morning and said she was so scared to undergo the procedure."
He said, "it's been just over 30 minutes since she went in so I'm a little worried if she's doing well. Still, before it started I was worried about the hormonal changes but it seems she overcame them well, and she seemed to go through this process with a happy heart. I'm so grateful and so proud," he said. After the retrieval was completed safely Ailee said, "I think the anesthesia hasn't fully worn off. I'm dizzy," and Choi Si‑hun soothed her, saying, "you did well."
Meanwhile Ailee married Choi Si‑hun, an actor‑turned‑entrepreneur who appeared on Netflix's Single's Inferno in 2024, and is currently preparing for in vitro fertilization for a second generation.
