On the first day of the holiday, the 14th, at 8:30 p.m., SBS opened the lineup by broadcasting the Lunar New Year special concert Sung Si Kyung. The Lunar New Year special concert Sung Si Kyung is the TV version of 'Concert Sung Si Kyung,' which was held from Dec. 25 to 28 last year, and it follows Sung Si Kyung's musical timeline as he celebrates his 25th debut anniversary. At 1 a.m. on the 16th, one day before Lunar New Year, 'Hanteo Music Awards with MBN' will air on MBN. The '33rd Hanteo Music Awards 2025,' jointly hosted by MBN and Hanteo Global, will be held on the 15th at 6 p.m. at KSPO DOME, and viewers will be able to watch it at home through MBN. 'Soul Beam,' recorded with a live audience of 400 fans, is a K-culture hybrid entertainment show under the subtitle 'Stray Kids: Woke up in the Joseon dynasty' that captures the delightful episodes that occur when Stray Kids, who stand at the top globally, meet Korea's unique traditional culture. Midway through a dazzling performance, Stray Kids mysteriously time-slip to the Joseon dynasty by an unknown force, and to return to their modern 'world star' positions they must complete the extraordinary missions given by Joseon's masters (MC Lee Sugeun, Jonathan), a movie-like setup that draws attention. It also reconstructs signature games from the 1990s Korean favorite 'Family Entertainment' in a 2026 sensibility, offering 'generation-relatable' content that lets not only fans but entire families gather in the living room and laugh together.
Meanwhile, MBC will air the three-part Lunar New Year special 'Nationwide No. 1' every Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. starting on the 16th. 'Nationwide No. 1' is a 'specialty champions league' where representative local specialties from across the country gather in one place to compete for the top spot in Korea. Riding the favorable reviews from last Chuseok's special broadcast, this Lunar New Year return is upgraded. Verified via the previous special, the knowledgeable-eating duo Moon Seyoon and Kim Dae-ho are joined by actress Park Haseon as MCs, and in situations where victory must be decided by taste alone, uncompromising regional showdowns create intense suspense. With only one region surviving by the judges' choice, viewers will be treated to an overwhelmingly scaled, unmissable visual and pride-driven regional battles—an enjoyable yet heated showdown the whole family can enjoy.
The second episode of the three-part Lunar New Year special 'Discovering the Table,' which premiered on the 10th, will air at 8:10 p.m. on the 17th. Hosted by Jang Geun-seok and featuring chefs Yoon Nam-no, Fabri, and David Lee, 'Discovering the Table' is a roadmendary that reinterprets 'K-food' found in familiar Korean dishes to highlight a diverse culinary world. Because part one showcased chefs' high-level dishes using traditional fermented sauces, the second installment will introduce a rich array of sights that include traditional crafts closely linked to Korean food culture.
In addition, on Lunar New Year day, the 17th, at 9:30 p.m., MBC's all-generation-friendly 'MBC Lunar New Year special super stage IU concert: The Winning' will air, allowing viewers at home to enjoy IU's live performance, which filled Seoul World Cup Stadium with countless hits and unmatched musicality and stage presence.
