Channel A weekend drama 'Positively Yours' Choi Jin-hyuk chose to go on the offensive to protect the woman he loves, Oh Yeon-seo, driving the episode in an exciting direction.
On the 14th (Sat) the Channel A weekend drama 'Positively Yours' (screenplay: So Hae-won/director: Kim Jin-seong/planned by Channel A/produced by Media Group Take Two, Studio PIC) episode 9 made Doo-jun (played by Choi Jin-hyuk) and Hee-won's (played by Oh Yeon-seo) love even stronger internally, prompting greater support for the two.
In that episode Hee-won escaped danger thanks to Doo-jun's quick thinking, but a bigger storm hit them both afterward. News broke that Doo-jun had impregnated a company employee and pressured her to have an abortion. Amid that, Doo-jun worried more about Hee-won than himself, telling his father Chan-gil (played by Son Byung-ho), who was talking about restoring stock prices and the company's image, "Some of it is true. I have a woman I love. That woman is pregnant with my child." But Chan-gil's words — "Before you are a man to one woman, you are the owner of a company. Thousands of people's livelihoods depend on a single word from you. You know who arranged this, right? Your sister-in-law is waiting for you to make a mistake now. The moment you acknowledge that woman, that will become the pretext to bring you down" — threw Doo-jun into conflict.
Meanwhile, Doo-jun's sister-in-law Jeong-eum (played by Baek Eun-hye) continued her scheme, making things difficult even for Hee-won. Jeong-eum visited Hee-won's home and warned, "It was me who planted the article. My goal is to bring down the young master. But this is a problem only between the young master and me, so before things get worse, break up with the young master." She added, "Think carefully about what would be better for that person. I'm telling you not to weaken yourself for nothing. From now on there will be nothing Hee-won can do," heightening the tension. Afterwards, Jeong-eum even gossiped to Doo-jun's mother Suk-hee (played by Kim Seon-kyung), saying, "Even if young men and women are bound to be attracted to each other, it is strange that she suddenly got pregnant. Frankly, is it even the young master's child?" She pressed on with a plot to use Doo-jun's sense of responsibility to strip away his remaining composure.
To make matters worse, voices calling for Doo-jun's voluntary resignation emerged, further cornering him. But love becomes harder than diamond in crisis. Hee-won told Doo-jun, "I'll just come forward and say the rumor isn't true," offering to step up herself, but Doo-jun replied, "I don't want that. The moment it's revealed, Director Jang's achievements so far will be belittled as if they came from me. It may invite worse misunderstandings," promising to protect Hee-won and sparking tender excitement.
Meanwhile, Min-wook appealed his feelings to Hee-won, who was struggling, saying, "Do you still have to stay by that side even after this? It's already this hard now, and there's no guarantee something like this won't happen again. I just hate seeing you suffer," making his feelings known until the end. But Hee-won said, "But this is my choice. I started knowing it wouldn't be easy, and rather than regret that choice I want to focus on what I can do. Thanks for worrying. I'll get through it. I'm usually strong in a crisis," revealing an inner strength made firmer by love.
But Hee-won's choice to distance herself from Doo-jun evoked sadness. While fleeing the press, Doo-jun found a moment alone with Hee-won away from prying eyes. The happy moment was brief; Hee-won surprised him by suggesting, "How about we just act like we don't know each other?" She continued, "I don't have the confidence to handle this life, and I don't want to be exposed and have our Yeol-mu be insulted. So just hide me. Say you don't know me. Say it's baseless. Let's stay apart for a while," saying goodbye despite not meaning it. But this was at the request of Doo-jun's father Chan-gil, who worried about him, and Hee-won hid her feelings and chose what she believed was best for Doo-jun.
At the end of the broadcast, Doo-jun chose to go on the offensive, making viewers' hearts race. In front of numerous reporters he admitted his relationship with Hee-won, saying, "Coercive relationships, pressure to abort, womanizing — let me be clear, none of that happened. But it's true that I love someone and that she is pregnant with my child." When asked, "When did you really start to like her?" Doo-jun answered, "When she said she would give up her dreams." He added, "She is someone precious to me. So I cannot lie to deny her. You can doubt and criticize me all you want. But please refrain from criticizing and speculating about her," with a blunt, unwavering declaration that confessed his love for Hee-won to the entire nation instead of offering excuses, shaking the living room theater. The episode ended with Hee-won moved by Doo-jun and the two looking at each other tenderly, leaving explosive curiosity for the next episode.
Meanwhile, the Channel A weekend drama 'Positively Yours,' a rom-com about two people who said there was no marriage for them in this life and whose one-night deviation led to a comeback, will air episode 10 tonight (15th) at 10:30 p.m.
