Group TWICE subunit MISAMO topped major local weekly album charts with their first full-length Japanese album.
TWICE unit group MISAMO officially released their first Japanese full-length album PLAY on Feb. 4. The album, which filled 12 tracks including the title track "Confetti," trendy B-sides and members' solo songs, drew favorable reviews, and the record topped the Oricon weekly album ranking and the combined weekly album ranking dated Feb. 16 (Feb. 2–8, 2026), underscoring its popularity.
In addition to Oricon, they are dominating local weekly charts. PLAY topped Billboard Japan's Top Album Sales and Hot Albums charts dated Feb. 11. It also ranked No. 1 on Tower Records' all-store comprehensive weekly album chart (Feb. 2–8, 2026) and Line Music's weekly album top 100 (Feb. 4–10, 2026).
The full-length album PLAY caps a trilogy of albums that began with the debut album Masterpiece in July 2023 and continued with the mini album HAUTE COUTURE in November 2024. MISAMO previously dominated weekly charts on Oricon, Billboard Japan and Tower Records with the mini album Masterpiece, successfully held their first dome tour with the mini album HAUTE COUTURE, and with PLAY once again topped major local album rankings, showcasing their presence.
The activities of the "global top girl group" TWICE also stand out. TWICE will hold 360-degree full-open single concerts at Tokyo National Stadium, the most symbolic venue in Japan, on Apr. 25, 26 and 28 as part of the world tour this is for. TWICE, the first overseas artist in history to enter Tokyo National Stadium, will accommodate about 80,000 spectators per show, staging a large-scale performance for a cumulative audience of about 240,000 over three shows and reaching a new career peak.
