Heo Gak, the "first generation of auditions" who rewrote the history of auditions in Korea, will appear on "1deungs."
MBC's new entertainment program "1deungs," which premieres on Feb. 15, is an unprecedented audition showdown where the final winners of numerous music auditions gather to determine the "best of the best." From the first recording, the vocal gods of the music industry appeared in large numbers, and the appearance of Heo Gak, the winner of "Superstar K2," the origin of Korea's audition craze, turned the venue upside down.
Sixteen years ago, Heo Gak, the miracle protagonist who moved the entire nation with only his voice and went from "ventilation fan repairman" to "superstar," said before this stage, "It feels like I'm competing in an audition again. I must win no matter what," expressing a grim determination that heightened the tension.
In particular, the broadcast will feature a special message of support from John Park, a rival and colleague who competed with Heo Gak in the "Superstar K2" finals, attracting attention. John Park praised him, saying, "Heo Gak's vocal cords are innate. He's a vocalist born to sing," and honestly confessed, "Looking back, I benefited a lot from popularity during the audition. I never thought I could beat Heo Gak with my singing," praising Heo Gak's overwhelming skill.
However, even for Heo Gak, the "first generation of auditions," becoming the top of "1deungs" does not look easy. The recent winner of "The Ballad of Us" and the "rookie of the audition world," Lee Yeji, is slated to appear. Confronted with Lee Yeji's fearless momentum after just grabbing the winner's trophy, Heo Gak reportedly said, "Because she hasn't been out of the audition for long, her combat power can't be measured. She seems to have a really strong heart," showing he could not let down his guard.
As attention focuses on the showdown between the two who are rewriting audition history across 15 years, "1deungs" will also feature many singers who topped different auditions, renewing legendary stages that resemble concerts each week. Expectations are high to see who will be the final one to become the "best of the best" in this pride-driven contest.
A war of top singers who can overwhelm the audience with a single line, MBC's audition showdown "1deungs" will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 8:50 p.m.<
