In Your Radiant Season revealed stills showcasing the presence of the key figures who drive South Korea's representative fashion house Nana Atelier.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama In Your Radiant Season, scheduled to premiere on the 20th (planned by Namgung Seong-woo, written by Jo Seong-hee, directed by Jeong Sang-hee and Kim Young-jae), depicts a fateful meeting between Chan, a man who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation, and Ran, a woman who has locked herself in winter, awakening frozen time in an unpredictable "Chan-ran" romance.
The stills released today (14th) feature the stylish visuals of fashion-leading figures centered on Kim Nana (Lee Mi-Sook), the head of Nana Atelier.
First, Kim Nana, South Korea's representative global fashion designer known as "Queen Nana," exudes an overwhelming aura that changes the atmosphere of a space simply by appearing. Her neat blonde hair, restrained black suit, oversized sunglasses and black coffee are her signature. Leading the brand with a craftsman's spirit that allows not even a 0.1-inch error and uncompromising standards, he is an absolute symbol among employees, called "the one law."
Song Ha-ran (Lee Sung-kyoung), who attends meetings with an expressionless face, is the chief designer who oversees the entire process from planning to runway direction. With a pared-down silhouette and monochrome style and an unadorned charisma, he is a cool, hands-on leader who lets results speak. Having grown up under a grandmother's harsh standards demanding perfection, Ha-ran will portray the complex relationship between grandmother and granddaughter that became stronger than a simple boss and subordinate to protect each other.
Younger sister Song Ha-young (Han Ji-hyun) is a junior designer in Design Team 1, a "monster talent" who has intuitively embodied sensibility and taste. With freewheeling energy and an honest personality that lifts the team's mood, she is the hidden ace and the team's spark. Particularly, Ha-young, who used to find teasing COO Yeon Tae-seok (Kwon Hyuk) the joy of company life, gradually begins to feel different emotions toward Tae-seok, who quietly covers for her mistakes, forming another axis of excitement.
Yeon Tae-seok, who provides a reliable backbone, also draws attention. Always in a neat suit 365 days a year and responsible for overall management, he is Kim Nana's right-hand man. He rose from a part-timer who ran errands to a driver and secretary and finally to the COO position, and understands Nana's philosophy deeper than anyone. Though he appears to be a cold manager who operates by principles and systems, his loyalty to Nana Atelier is fiercer than anyone else's.
Design Team 1 senior designer Jeremy (Jang Yong-won) is an individualist who captures attention with vivid colors and bold styling. He clashes with Ha-ran due to a different temperament, adding tension. Junior designer Baek Seung-gyu (Ki Hyun-woo) possesses a trendy physique and strict self-discipline; contrary to his seemingly light first impression, he adds a solid presence to the team with a sincerity that is more passionate about clothes than anyone else.
Here, Jeon Pu-reum (Lee Seung-yeon) and Kim Sol (Yoon Chae-bin) make the team's colors more diverse. Pu-reum, who quietly takes care of the team, and Sol, a Gen Z intern armed with quick execution and sensibility, will act as "observers" who first capture incidents and love lines, adding lively energy to the drama.
The clash of tradition and modernity, the craftsman's stubbornness and youthful audacity, and the spectacular runways and delicate design processes created by characters with their own backstories are also major points to watch. Added to this are the actors' solid acting skills and the chemistry between characters, which are expected to further raise immersion.
