Hong Hyun-hee then became a topic by revealing the actual management methods she uses on YouTube. Through YouTube she showed her steady efforts to maintain health and, together with Jasson, shared daily life raising their son Jun-beom, building an image as a "likeable couple."
But Hong Hyun-hee's diet became embroiled in unexpected controversy as it connected to husband Jasson's business. Recently Jasson said that while working with Hong Hyun-hee on her management he planned and produced a diet product that can help with blood sugar control and started selling it. The product sold out within four hours of its launch.
Some have criticized that the product was promoted using Hong Hyun-hee's diet because she had regularly exposed content about weight loss and blood sugar management on YouTube and social media. That is why they were accused of building up promotion for the product.
Jasson directly stated his position and sought to resolve the issue. On the 13th he posted a long message on his social media saying the product he launched is "not a health functional food nor a medicine but a regular food," and explained that "it was created so that the vinegar, oil and vegetables Hyun-hee had been consistently consuming as she regained healthy eating habits could be consumed more safely and with uniform quality and conveniently."
He added that Hong Hyun-hee's weight loss was not because of the product he released but the result of her efforts to change her eating habits, intermittent fasting and long hours of pilates combined with steady walking, saying she regained her health. He asked that her efforts to stay healthy not be misunderstood, and said that he himself changed because of it.
In particular, regarding criticism that they used Hong Hyun-hee's diet to promote the product, Jasson said it was "not simply making and selling a product but the result of thought and preparation so Hyun-hee can continuously consume good foods within a lifelong healthy routine," and said, "It is something my family and I eat, and we transparently showed that process in videos. If it can be even a small help to people with concerns similar to Hyun-hee's, I think that is enough."
