'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' Os Sang-jin opened a midnight restaurant for his wife Kim So-young and their unborn second child.
On Jan. 13, the Lunar New Year special broadcast on KBS 2TV Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant (hereafter "Fun-Staurant") revealed the cooking routine of "Butler Oh" Os Sang-jin, who stirred up explosive attention since his first appearance last week. Not only did he endlessly repeat cooking and riding for his wife and daughter all day, but Os Sang-jin even opened a midnight restaurant tailored to his wife who got off work late at 10 p.m. Viewers watching were moved to cry out, "Every household needs one Butler Oh immediately."
Os Sang-jin, who started cooking at 6 a.m. that day, moved nonstop with house cleaning in the afternoon and picking up his 7-year-old daughter from after-school care. He also made a "arm curry" into which he poured his forearm effort for his picky-eating daughter. Os's "arm curry" is a menu that maximizes the sweetness of curry by frying onions until crushed while hiding the presence of vegetables. During cooking, his daughter Sua discovered that onions were used, but perhaps recognizing her father's devotion, Sua ate the "arm curry" heartily. Thanks to that, doting father Os Sang-jin broke into a goofy, wide smile.
Even at 8 p.m., Os Sang-jin continued cooking for his pregnant wife, CEO Kim So-young, who works hard and comes home late. When Os Sang-jin asked her that morning what she wanted to eat, Kim So-young answered that she wanted a red and spicy meat dish that was not Korean food. To match Kim So-young's palate, which had suffered from morning sickness until recently, Os Sang-jin chose tomato short rib stew, shepherd's purse doenjang vongole pasta, and grilled avocado.
All the dishes on the table were filled with Kim So-young's favorites. In particular, Os Sang-jin's shepherd's purse doenjang vongole pasta, which he said he had made thousands of times for Kim So-young since their dating days, made the Fun-Staurant cast swallow and wonder about its taste. For each menu, Os Sang-jin presented excellent cooking tips, announcing the birth of a Fun-Staurant new recipe master whose recipes anyone can easily follow.
Kim So-young, who got off work at 10 p.m., enjoyed Os Sang-jin's meal. She did not forget to express gratitude to her husband for cooking hard for her and for their unborn second child late into the night. Seeing his wife eat well, Os Sang-jin poured out an overflowing, "genuinely happy" goofy smile. Kim So-young said, "Thanks to my husband and daughter, my stress melts away as soon as I get home," and laughed as she added, "Please take good care of the newborn (coming soon)."
All day, Os Sang-jin cooked and rode for his wife and daughter and for the second child in his wife's belly, so he himself ended up eating hurriedly. It was a somewhat bittersweet and oddly funny daily life of Butler Oh, but because it was filled with family love, it made viewers happy. Attention is focused on what kind of activities Butler Oh Os Sang-jin, comparable to the devoted husbands who have appeared on Fun-Staurant, will show as a Fun-Staurant chef in the future.
Meanwhile, on that broadcast the Fun-Staurant 10th menu in collaboration with OURHOME was born. The final winner of this competition themed "pig war" was mukbang cultural asset Kim Joon-hyun's "flame-scented pork rice bowl." Kim Joon-hyun's "flame-scented pork rice bowl," completed by adding potato rice to the seasoned grilled samgyeopsal that had drawn attention, won the competition unanimously for the first time in Fun-Staurant history amid praise calling it "the maximization of a familiar taste." The Lunar New Year special Fun-Staurant pig war winning menu, Kim Joon-hyun's "flame-scented pork rice bowl," will be available not only as a convenience meal but also on OURHOME's catering menu.
