Singer Tei candidly revealed the behind-the-scenes of his diet and his philosophy on body management.
On the 13th episode of KBS 2TV The Seasons - 10cm's SsedamSsedam, MC Kwon Jung-yeol asked Tei, "Why did you lose so much weight?"
Tei replied, "To sing a sad ballad you have to look a little strained," and said, "If you don't look strained and sing a sad song, it lacks credibility," prompting nods. He said, "I gave up my happy late-night snacks for two months and have been dieting. I also work out hard," updating on his current situation.
He added, "Because I'm appearing on 'SsedamSsedam' today, I worked hard on shoulder exercises yesterday," and joked to the audience, "Everyone, these are my shoulders. There are no pads at all. Please grab my shoulders a lot," turning the venue into a sea of laughter.
On the broadcast, Tei confessed that there was a time when his weight reached three digits. He recalled, "When I switched to the hamburger food business, I gained exactly 27kg in one month," and said, "I decided to diet and started eating only one meal a day." He added, "When I'm hungry, I tell myself 'I am eating my own fat now' and endure and train, so now I can even manage one meal every two days."
When Kwon Jung-yeol, hearing this, worried that "It seems bad for your health," Tei expressed his thoughts, saying, "Intermittent fasting seems to be beneficial for health. Looking back, that's how it was."
Meanwhile, Tei has consistently received love for delicate, emotional ballads such as 'Same Pillow,' 'Love leaves a scent,' 'Love is one,' and 'After breaking up.' He is currently actively communicating with listeners as the DJ of MBC FM4U radio Good Morning FM, this is Tei.<
