Actors Cho Yoon-seo and Choi Byung-chan are responsible for the abundant fun of "Lovephobia."
The new drama "Lovephobia," which will premiere first on the 19th at 11 p.m. on U+mobiletv and Lifetime (writer Lee Se-ryeong, director Wang Hye-ryeong, produced by WEMAD), is the story of Yoon Bi-a (Yeonwoo), the CEO of a dating app who finds AI more comfortable than people, and Han Seon-ho (Kim Hyun-jin), a romantic romance novelist, who design smart relationships using AI and come to realize the true meaning of love; it can be seen first through U+mobiletv VOD.
Cho Yoon-seo plays Seol Jae-hee, the co-CEO of the AI dating app "It's You" and Yoon Bi-a's (Yeonwoo) closest friend, and Choi Byung-chan plays Han Baek-ho, the head of HAN Agency and the twin brother of Han Seon-ho (Kim Hyun-jin). The two, who will bring energy to Lovephobia with their charming characters, expressed deep affection for the drama today (the 13th).
First, Cho Yoon-seo explained her reason for appearing in "Lovephobia," saying, "I found it very interesting that this is a drama that follows the trend of AI permeating life in various ways." She added, "I had a big question about how to express a new subject through acting," and noted, "I hope it becomes a work that can pose novel emotions and questions to viewers."
In reality, Cho Yoon-seo is emotional and impulsive, whereas Jae-hee in the drama is thoroughly realistic and methodical. Cho Yoon-seo said this gap rather "approached her as acting fun," and added, "I worried most about how far to show the emotions Jae-hee feels so that sincerity would be conveyed." She pointed to the "flow of emotions" as a particular point of interest and said, "Following various emotions and understanding love in each person's way may be one point of enjoying Lovephobia," arousing curiosity about "Lovephobia."
Choi Byung-chan, who plays Han Baek-ho, said the reason he chose "Lovephobia" was, "I chose it after seeing the fresh material of AI and the story and characters of the drama." Defining Baek-ho as "a 30-something man who is a handful and not yet mature," he added, "He has a pure love in his heart and is a man who tries not to lose what is precious." He went on to boast about his synchronicity with the character, saying, "My clumsy and bright side seems similar to Baek-ho."
To portray Baek-ho, Choi Byung-chan said, "I acted while thinking of the time I had a childhood crush," and revealed, "I recalled times when I liked someone but could not approach them and only watched from afar." Expectations are already high for the awkward but cute romance he will depict.
Finally, Choi Byung-chan said, "A precious work has come out. Please watch and pay attention," offering his thoughts. Cho Yoon-seo also said, "I am happy to be part of the work," and encouraged viewers to tune in, saying, "Lovephobia is a drama that has both laughter and emotion. With the special material of AI added, you will be able to feel new fun."
The new drama "Lovephobia," which is expected to showcase the performances of Cho Yoon-seo and Choi Byung-chan, is produced by WEMAD and will be released on the 19th (Thursday) at 11 p.m. on U+mobiletv and Lifetime.
