Actor Choi Jung-yoon quietly revealed her remarriage and announced a second act in her life. Previously seen as a 'single mom,' she is now the wife of a businessman five years her junior.
Choi Jung-yoon recently announced her remarriage herself on her YouTube channel "Two-jobbing Choi Jung-yoon," saying, "A new family has been born." She said, "I was writing with a full heart on my daughter's birthday and left a note about the new family, but no one noticed," and added, "After much deliberation, I decided to make it public."
The existence of her daughter played a big role in her decision to remarry. She recalled, "On the third day that friend saw us, Ji-woo sat us in the middle and called us 'dad, mom,'" adding, "I wondered if this was what destiny felt like." She said, "No matter how much you love someone, remarriage is difficult if the child disagrees. But the child opened her heart first." It was reported that the daughter remains especially close, even taking her new father's hand first.
Her husband is a businessman five years younger whom she had known for some time. They grew closer through a golf gathering, and the relationship naturally developed as she helped promote his business. Choi Jung-yoon expressed affection, saying, "He likes to stay hidden and is very shy. He treats my daughter very lovingly."
Earlier, she appeared on tvN STORY's "Accidental adult" and mentioned visitation rights with her ex-husband. She said, "Legally it is twice a month, but we handle it flexibly according to the child's condition and schedule," which drew attention. She married Yoon Tae-jun in 2011 and had a daughter in 2016; after divorcing in 2022, she raised her alone.
She also clarified the 'Cheongdam-dong daughter-in-law' image that followed after the divorce. She said, "I've never lived in Cheongdam-dong. It just spread like a rumor," and candidly spoke about realistic worries about making a living. She also shared recent activities beyond acting, such as challenging the real estate agent exam and considering starting a business.
Choi Jung-yoon, who debuted in 1997 with the drama "Beautiful Her," has been active in a variety of works including "Rooftop Cat," "Ojakgyo Brothers," and "Cheongdam-dong Scandal."
