Assistant Deputy Director Kim Sun-tae, who led Chungju City's YouTube channel under the name "Chungju Man," is resigning.
On the 13th, according to Chungju City, Assistant Deputy Director Kim Sun-tae submitted his resignation to the personnel department the day before and then went on long-term leave.
A Chungju City official said, "The resignation has not yet been accepted," adding, "Since he expressed his intention to resign, it will be processed according to procedures."
Assistant Deputy Director Kim Sun-tae ran Chungju City's official YouTube channel, "Chung TV," and received much attention under the name "Chungju Man."
With short yet powerful videos and bold parody videos, Chungju Man amassed nearly 1 million subscribers and achieved the highest subscriber count among official local government channels nationwide.
Recognizing these achievements, he attracted attention by being promoted to level 6 after seven years in office at the end of 2023.
Afterward, Chungju Man, who led the team as head of the new media team under the director for public relations at Chungju City Hall, expressed his intention to resign after nine years in public service, and Chungju City's YouTube channel is expected to be operated by a successor.
