'MZ wannabe icon' IVE (IVE: Ahn Yujin·Gaeul·Ray·Jang Wonyoung·Reeze·Lee Seo) ignited their comeback by releasing a campaign film for their second full-length album.
Starship Entertainment posted the film for 'The Narcissistic Gurls Campaign (THE NARCISSISTIC GURLS CAMPAIGN)' on IVE's official social media on the 12th.
The released film begins with direction that combines IVE's Y2K sensibility and brand campaign mood, immediately raising immersion. The members completed a flashy yet unique visual by pairing bold jewelry with headphones and glitter styling. The slogan 'PRETTY IS MY POWER' and 'THE NARCISSISTIC GURLS CAMPAIGN' that appear throughout the video reinterpret 'beauty' beyond a mere external factor as a self-affirming, autonomous attitude, suggesting a new direction for the narcissism IVE has built.
The styling that reveals each member's individuality is also striking. Ray showed a kitschy yet hip mood using sparkling boots and a pink ribbon cushion, Ahn Yujin created an intellectual yet dreamy atmosphere by mixing horn-rimmed glasses with flashy jewelry, and Gaeul and Lee Seo revealed sensuous yet provocative charm using lavish fur items.
Witty props also draw attention. Jang Wonyoung held a book titled 'I am Jang Wonyoung' and delivered an immersed performance as if moved, and Reez held a book titled 'You can be Reez too' and struck a confident pose to convey a bold message. The scenes featuring the members present 'self-love' in a new way and clearly express the campaign's concept.
IVE expands the narrative that had revolved around 'me' into a perspective of 'we' through their second full-length album 'Revive Plus.' The story that started from the identity of 'IVE = me' leads to 'IVE and the public together as we,' foreshadowing IVE's next chapter toward broader possibilities.
Earlier, with the pre-release single 'BANG BANG' unveiled on the 9th, IVE delivered catharsis with energetic sound and bold performances. The song rose to No. 1 on YouTube's domestic rising music chart immediately after release and has stayed at the top for four consecutive days, ranked No. 1 on the daily popular music video chart for two consecutive days, and the 'Bang Bang' performance video climbed to No. 2, maintaining a hit trajectory. While continuing an upward trend that appeals not only to domestic but also global listeners' tastes, IVE has raised expectations for an expanded narrative to be continued with the title track 'BLACKHOLE' through this campaign film.
Meanwhile, IVE will release their second full-length album REVIVE+ (Revive Plus) through various online music sites at 6 p.m. KST on the 23rd.
