'MZ wannabe icon' IVE (IVE: Ahn Yujin. Ga-eul. Ray. Jang Wonyoung. Liz. Lee Seo) met global fans with a pre-release stage before their comeback.
IVE appeared on Mnet's 'M Countdown,' broadcast on the 12th, and for the first time on a music show unveiled the pre-release track 'Bang Bang (BANG BANG)' from their second full-length album REVIVE+ (Revive Plus).
On that broadcast Ga-eul and Ray appeared as special MCs and opened the music show widely. Styled with ribbons as a point, they showed a lovable charm, led the music show while displaying bright energy and hosting skills, conducted interviews with many juniors and seniors preparing comeback stages as well as with IVE members, and completed a challenge together, brightly coloring the venue.
On the next stage IVE appeared at the start of the performance with confident, charismatic expressions, multiplying the excitement. They also captivated attention by perfectly pulling off black stage outfits that highlighted each member's individual charm.
IVE delivered a powerful performance to a fast-paced EDM sound. They also added viewing enjoyment by presenting intuitive point choreographies such as the 'shoulder dance,' where they fold their arms and shake their shoulders; the 'keyring dance,' which expressed headbanging with hand movements; and the 'Ayaya (Ayaya) dance,' which sharply bends the waist.
IVE proved themselves a 'performance hot spot' by focusing a sophisticated yet addictive chorus into diverse synchronized choreography. With Ga-eul's and Ray's high-level rapping driving intensely, they captivated both eyes and ears and delivered a thrilling catharsis. 'Bang Bang' is based on EDM and electronic sounds with a Western swing intro and carries a self-directed message about not being swayed by others' gazes or rumors and carving out situations by one's own choices.
'Bang Bang,' pre-released on the 9th, has been running a hit streak by generating high interest at home and abroad. Immediately after its release it rose to No. 1 on YouTube's domestic trending music, and it has firmly held the No. 1 spot on the daily popular music video chart. At the same time, it landed at No. 4 on the Apple Music popular chart (on the 12th), and on the iTunes top K-pop songs chart it entered the top 20 in 31 countries and regions, proving its growing commercial momentum. Also, as of 9 a.m. on the 13th it was No. 1 on Melon HOT100, No. 2 on Melon TOP100, No. 1 on Bugs real-time chart, No. 1 on Flo real-time chart, and it appeared on the top ranks of major domestic music charts including Genie, Vibe, as well as on several global charts, proving its music-streaming power.
Meanwhile, with IVE set to release their second full-length album REVIVE+ (Revive Plus) on the 23rd, today (the 13th) they will appear on KBS2's MUSIC BANK and continue music show activities with 'BANG BANG (Bang Bang)'.
