Broadcaster Jang Young-ran confessed that she suffered losses from an investment scam worth several hundred million won in the past.
Jang Young-ran mentioned a past investment experience while talking with her husband Han Chang in a video on the YouTube channel "A-class Jang Young-ran" released on the 11th. Han Chang said, "Someone told me the company would go public and said, 'Ms. Young-ran, invest,' so I really trusted that person. I put in a big sum, but I couldn't get my money back and the company never listed." Jang Young-ran added, "They said they would return the principal, but in the end I didn't receive it."
Han Chang also said, "When Ms. Young-ran meets small business owners, she promotes their shops on social media wishing them success, and thanks to that they do well—then they become the ones with the power." Jang Young-ran said, "I told them I wouldn't be taking photos today, but people still keep taking them. It feels like there are 100 cases like this."
A frustrating situation during the interior work at the hospital Han Chang runs was also shared that day. Han Chang recalled, "A contractor twice as expensive as the one first proposed was selected, and the head of that firm was also an acquaintance of Ms. Young-ran," adding, "The interior work itself was good, but before we opened the hospital, the workers said the (interior) boss hadn't paid them and they occupied the hospital. They said they would at least get the money from me, and that was a tough time."
