Actor Lee Seo-Hwan has been confirmed to appear in KBS 2TV's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri," and will meet viewers as Im Ju-hyung, the village chief of Yeonriri.
KBS 2TV's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" (director Choi Yeon-su / written by Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji / produced by Simstory) is a rebooting healing drama about the real urban family, the Seong Tae-hoon household, who suddenly land in the pristine, forbidding(?) area of "Yeonriri" and struggle to make a comeback to Seoul, creating chaotic and humorous moments.
In the drama, Im Ju-hyung, played by Lee Seo-Hwan, is the longtime fixture of Yeonriri and the village chief who keeps the townspeople together; he is cold to outsiders but has a warm, humane side. He clashes with the Seong Tae-hoon family who came down from the city, driving both tension and laughter in the story, and will at times serve as a solid pillar protecting the village.
Lee Seo-Hwan is an actor who drew attention from domestic and international viewers with natural acting and a weighty presence as Park Jeong-bae, Sung Ki-hoon's friend and aide, in the Netflix series Squid Game seasons 1 and 2. Later, in the drama "The story of Manager Kim who owns a house in Seoul and works at a large company," he played Manager Heo, delicately portraying the realities and hardships of office workers and once again proving his strength in life-centered acting.
The production team said, "Actor Lee Seo-Hwan is the actor who can most convincingly portray an ordinary person. He has the power to make it look as if he actually lives in the space called Yeonriri, so we judged him to be the most suitable for the role of Im Ju-hyung," and added, "As the person who holds the center of Yeonriri village, we expect him to further solidify the tone of the drama."
Currently showcasing a distinctive presence, Lee Seo-Hwan has a string of diverse upcoming projects beyond this work, drawing even more attention to his future moves. As an actor who has steadily built trust through solid acting skills and realistic character portrayals, there is growing anticipation about what story and emotion "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" will deliver.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" is scheduled to premiere on Mar. 3.
