Actor the late Jeong Eun-woo suddenly passed away, drawing attention to the last signal he left behind.
On the 11th, according to the broadcasting industry and others, Jeong Eun-woo died at the age of 40. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
News of Jeong Eun-woo's death was sudden. As recently as the 10th, a day earlier, he posted photos of the late actor Leslie Cheung and Amy Winehouse on his social media account and left the message "longing envious regret.. PIR.BG". Although he was not very active on social media, the fact that he posted as recently as the day before his death made the news of his passing sudden and therefore all the more shocking.
Some speculated that Jeong Eun-woo's post might have been a signal announcing his sudden death, since Leslie Cheung and Amy Winehouse are also representative figures who died suddenly. In particular, some interpreted the phrase 'PIR.BG' left with the photo as possibly being 'Goodbye. Rest In Peace' reversed.
Fans were shocked, but Jeong Eun-woo's acquaintances have also not been able to recover from the shock. Pop artist Nancy Lang, who left the comment '♥ang!' on Jeong Eun-woo's Leslie Cheung post, said, "Eun-woo! I just heard the news. I didn't realize these photos were a signal the day before. My heart hurts so much and I feel so sad and numb. Why were you so struggling? Rest peacefully in heaven, Eun-woo. I extend my deepest condolences."
Actor and sports trainer Byun Geon-woo also mourned, saying, "Goodbye, Eun-woo. You worked hard. We exercised together, lived together, laughed, cried and joked together—what was so urgent that you left first? I hope you are happy with your handsome face and great body. You did well."
Novelist So Jae-won also mourned, saying, "Eun-woo! My reply to the last message you sent came so late," and added, "You probably wanted to tell hyung about the hard things, right? What kept me so busy that I sent such a late reply? Living so close yet why was it so hard to see each other's faces? In regret, I am only now coming to meet you!"
Born in 1986, Jeong Eun-woo played basketball at Songdo Middle School and Songdo High School in Incheon but changed career paths after injuries and because he was somewhat short for a basketball player. He debuted in 2006 in the drama 'Sharp 3' and appeared in the dramas 'Bride of the Sun', 'Five Fingers', 'A Well-raised Daughter', 'Return of Hwang Geum-bok', 'The Only One of My Kind' and in the films 'Serial Wife', 'Miss Changer' and 'Memory: Manipulated Murder'.
