Fashion designer Hwang Yeong-rong revealed conversations with the late Jeong Eun-woo from when they were alive and expressed condolences.
Hwang Yeong-rong recently posted screenshots of messages exchanged with Jeong Eun-woo on his social media. In the released conversation, Jeong Eun-woo said "There are so many pathological liars and scammers in this world… I was a fool at the broadcasting station..", "I tried to seek comfort from the people who came to me for being hurt by others.. really… disgusting.. I don't know why they live like that.." and poured out complicated feelings.
He added, "Still, I'll try to believe..^^", "Hold on.. words like 'stay strong' were lies..", "Winning is about grades in school… enduring is what ultimately wins.." leaving messages that seemed to soothe himself. In particular, the remark "Living well is not having a lot of money.. it seems to be about communication.." revealed the late person's values and left readers heavy-hearted.
In another post, alongside a photo of Jeong Eun-woo, Hwang Yeong-rong wrote, "I should have answered the phone!!!!!!!! I really didn't know, I'm so, so sorry… but this is really too much, really… I should have paid more attention, I'm so sorry and truly grateful, I'm so sad, I will definitely keep the promise… love you, goodbye…" expressing a mix of self-reproach and longing.
The released messages and condolence posts have rapidly spread online, adding to the sorrow. Internet users mourned the deceased with reactions such as "The messages are even more heartbreaking," "The line about enduring being winning keeps lingering," and "I can't even imagine how devastated the people close to them must be."
Earlier, Jeong Eun-woo died at age 40 on the 11th. After the sudden bereavement, tributes from colleagues and acquaintances have continued, and the conversations released by Hwang Yeong-rong evoke the anguish the deceased may have endured and create a sense of numbness.
