Guest vocalist Cha Taehyun of Amuttta Band said of his debut, "I was so surprised and it was an amazing thing."
Amuttta Band (Hong Kyung-min, Jo Young-su, Cha Taehyun, Jeon In-hyeok, Kim Joon-hyun, Jo Jeong-min) held a showcase at 4 p.m. on the 12th at SA Hall in Dongsung-dong, Jongno District, Seoul to commemorate the release of their first digital single, 'You know.'
Amuttta Band is composed of Hong Kyung-min (leader·bass), Jo Young-su (keyboard), Cha Taehyun (guest vocalist), Jeon In-hyeok (guitar), Kim Joon-hyun (drums) and Jo Jeong-min (piano). The band came together to present "good music" that crosses genre boundaries.
That day Cha Taehyun, surprised by the packed press turnout, opened by saying, "What on earth is going on? I wondered whether so many people would come."
Cha Taehyun continued, "I'm really here by chance, but thanks to this a new track came out and it's such a good thing for me. I'm so grateful. I'm very thankful that I could perform on this stage, and it's an extremely strange thing. I was so surprised," and added, "From the moment we planned the showcase I thought, 'Why should we do this?' but I didn't expect so many to come. We're not idols, so it's very surprising," drawing attention.
Kim Joon-hyun also said of his debut, "I'm very, very happy. I've never seen this many people at a press conference for a new program. I'm overwhelmed with emotion and so grateful for the interest and love that I don't know how to respond."
Hong Kyung-min said, "It was a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time. When I was 20, before becoming a singer, going to perform at theaters with friends felt chaotic but thrilling. I forgot that feeling during my singing career, but it's like that now. Meeting good members, I feel like I'm enjoying a blessing bigger than I expected."
Composer Jo Young-su also said, "I feel the same as Hong Kyung-min. I started a band and made music since high school. When I grew tired and weary of composing and music, my passion came back after meeting these friends."
Amuttta Band's "You know" will be released at 6 p.m. on the 13th.
