On TV CHOSUN's hyperrealistic documentary-variety show "Lover of Joseon," Taejin-ah opens up about memories he and his wife Ok-gyeong shared while living in the United States.
On the pre-release video of "Lover of Joseon," which will air on Feb. 16 (Mon), the Lunar New Year special features Taejin-ah, who moved viewers two years ago, coming to the front row of the living room with an update on his wife Ok-gyeong, who is battling dementia. Taejin-ah visited Times Square in the United States for the first time in 25 years to film a "reminiscence therapy" video to show Ok-gyeong.
At this place soaked with the youth he spent with Ok-gyeong, Taejin-ah recalls working as a street vendor. He recalled the time he would shout "Five dollars" and hawk his goods, saying, "We spread a small cloth and, in winter, sold hats, gloves and scarves. Then Ok-gyeong would stand there and watch the stall."
He reenacted vividly, saying, "When Ok-gyeong would shout, 'Honey! The patrol is coming!' we would pack up the bundle and go down into the subway (to avoid the crackdown)." Taejin-ah expressed bitterness, saying, "I explain it now with a smile, but those were truly bleak times... it was no different from being inside a pitch-dark tunnel." The footage Taejin-ah captured in the United States, full of the youth he spent with Ok-gyeong, can be seen in the full broadcast.
The update on Taejin-ah, who returns once again for the Lunar New Year special, and his wife Ok-gyeong, who is battling dementia, will be revealed on the hyperrealistic documentary-variety TV CHOSUN "Lover of Joseon" on Feb. 16 (Mon) at 10 p.m.
