Actor Ahn Bo-hyun expressed envy watching his close friends Kim Woo-bin and GwakTube get married.
On the 11th at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Ahn Bo-hyun conducted a wrap-up interview for the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Spring Fever.
Spring Fever is a work that contains a hot pink romance of spring that will melt even frozen hearts, between teacher Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-been), who feels the chilly winds, and the man Seon Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun) with a burning heart, and Ahn Bo-hyun met viewers by playing the role of Seon Jae-gyu in the drama.
Earlier, Ahn Bo-hyun won the Best New Actor award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards last year for the film Pretty Crazy. Since he began acting in film, winning the newcomer award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards must have been especially meaningful. He recalled, I was grateful just to be nominated. Being a Blue Dragon Film Awards candidate was a first in my life, so I wondered, 'Is this right?' I have age and certain standards, but just being selected felt strange and fun.
He said he had no expectations of winning at all. He said, My suit pockets were full of all sorts of things. I had no expectation of winning, so I put in everything I could. Suddenly my name was called, and senior Lee Sung-min yelled 'Hey!' so I jumped up and walked up. I think I rambled, and watching the video felt like a dream. I woke up and my phone was dead; these were all unfamiliar experiences. It was really good. I felt that such an award can be a great driving force and stimulant in an actor's career.
When asked about his family's reactions, Ahn Bo-hyun said, Gyeongsang-do is like Gyeongsang-do. My mother didn't do much; she just wrote down on a Post-it who should sign and slid it over. Other than that, she said you worked hard and congratulations, but she didn't call to do anything. He added, But when you look at the phone there's a photo of the award I received. Those things seem to mean something different. I thought, 'This woman can do this too?' My younger sister expresses it indirectly, and it feels good. Those things don't make me float; they make things fun.
In particular, Ahn Bo-hyun recently attended the weddings of his close friends, actor Kim Woo-bin and GwakTube. When asked if seeing them made him think about marriage, he laughed and said, Not only me but my peers, friends who aren't married are all envious. He added, I still enjoy working. This may sound contradictory, but when my body hurts less I want to work a bit harder and leave things behind; I have that mindset. It's natural to be envious, but a bigger desire is to devote myself more to work.
