Comedian Park Na-rae, who halted activities amid allegations of power abuse toward former managers, will undergo a police investigation tomorrow (the 12th). This is the first time she will be questioned by police as an accused.
According to police on the 10th, Park Na-rae is scheduled to appear at 2:30 p.m. on the 12th at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station as an accused to be questioned.
Earlier, Park Na-rae was engulfed in revelations by two former managers alleging so-called power abuse, including workplace harassment, proxy prescriptions, and nonpayment of production fees. At the time, the managers claimed they suffered power abuse and special injury, proxy prescription, illegal medical procedures, and nonpayment of production fees by Park Na-rae, and they announced they would file a damage suit with an application for property seizure of about 100 million won at the Seoul Western District Court.
In response, Park Na-rae's side denied the former managers' claims and instead filed a criminal complaint accusing the managers of attempted extortion. The former managers also accused Park Na-rae of embezzlement, claiming she had falsely registered her ex-boyfriend as an employee and transferred money under the name of wages, and they submitted additional complaints including special injury and defamation. Park Na-rae also filed additional embezzlement charges against the former managers, and police investigations are ongoing.
Currently, police have completed questioning both sides of complainants and are expected to carry out a full investigation of Park Na-rae as an accused. Police are also looking into allegations of illegal medical procedures raised by the managers' revelations.
In this regard, A, recently known as the injection aunt, is also reported to have been questioned by police, and police have imposed a travel ban on A and conducted search-and-seizure operations as they verify the facts related to the allegations.
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae suspended activities and voluntarily withdrew from all broadcasts amid the controversy. She left her flagship variety show MBC "I Live Alone," followed by "Save Me! Homes," and tvN "Amazing Saturday," and the web variety show "Narae-sik" and MBC "I Am Excited" and "Palm You Trip," which were scheduled to be released, were entirely canceled.
However, the preproduced Disney+ variety show "Unmyeongjeonjaeng49" that finished filming in advance will be released normally today (the 11th). However, Park Na-rae is not shown in released previews, raising curiosity about how she will appear in the new variety show.
Debuting in 2006 as a KBS 21st class public recruitment comedian, Park Na-rae marks her 20th anniversary this year. From the start of her 20th anniversary, with news of a police investigation, attention is focused on what Park Na-rae will say before the investigation.
