Kim Byung-hyun revealed his wife after 16 years.
On the 10th, SBS' Dongsaingimong 2 - You Are My Destiny (hereinafter Dongsaingimong 2) aired as an entrepreneur couple relay special, and Kim Byung-hyun grants.
Kim Byung-hyun, who has a record of closing 11 times, said, "I paid a lot of opportunity costs. I operated a sushi restaurant since my player days. After returning to Korea I ran steak, ramen, Thai food, and hamburger shops. I still run the sushi restaurant. The steakhouse closed due to the mad cow disease incident. The ramen shop closed because of the boycott movement."
He continued, "The hamburger shop was inside the stadium. I opened a hamburger shop, but COVID-19 broke out then, so there were probably 1 to 2 years of games without spectators," he said. Kim Byung-hyun said, "The losses were indescribably large," and revealed that the hamburger shop, which had maintenance costs of 20 million won, closed after losing 200 million won.
Kim Byung-hyun said, "My wife doesn't know much. I wanted to show only good things. I started without telling my wife," revealing that he had continued the business without his wife's knowledge.
His wife said, "My husband doesn't like to reveal things about me. He doesn't talk much about outside matters. He blocks a lot. When a shop opens, when filming happens, when a shop closes, I hear about it through acquaintances or read about it in articles. It's a bit frustrating. I wondered if other people live like that too. I trusted him, but I came to ask how long I have to keep living trusting like this."
Later, his wife visited the sausage restaurant that Kim Byung-hyun opened as his 12th. Kim Gu Ra asked if it was his final start-up, and his wife said, "There was no consultation or conversation, but since we are on the same boat, I hope it goes well," supporting Kim Byung-hyun.
