South Korea's representative rock band YB has been meeting fans on a nationwide tour marking their 30th anniversary since debut, but news of vocalist Yoon Do-hyun's health problems has brought sadness.
YB is conducting a nationwide tour to mark their 30th anniversary, 'YB REMASTERED 3.0 : Transcendent'. Their stage, long a symbol of Korean rock, has been noted as a large-scale project that encapsulates 30 years of music history. It was expected to be not just a commemorative concert but a place to show the band's still ongoing energy.
However, on the 10th, agency Dcompany announced the postponement of the Ulsan concert in an official statement. The 'YB Remastered 3.0' Ulsan performances scheduled for the 14th and 15th were postponed due to Yoon Do-hyun's health issues. The agency explained, "The artist had been preparing for the concert despite cold symptoms, but his throat condition worsened rapidly after the weekend performances. He received a doctor's opinion that he must focus on treatment for the time being."
Yoon Do-hyun also directly shared his feelings. He said, "I feel an extremely heavy heart," and said, "I will focus on treatment and return in good condition." He added that he is undergoing various treatments concurrently, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy and intravenous fluids.
The reason this news is even more heartbreaking is Yoon Do-hyun's past illness history. He was diagnosed in 2021 with a rare blood cancer, gastric MALT lymphoma, and after dedicating three years to treatment, he was declared cured. Since then he returned to the stage and continued active activities, becoming a symbol of hope for many.
When the concert postponement news was announced, fans sent both worries and support, saying, "Health comes first," "We can wait for Yoon Do-hyun's songs anytime," and "Even after a cure, management won't be easy, so I hope he recovers."
