Kim Kyungbo, Kang Da Bin and Cheon Heeju, armed with diverse charms, expressed their extraordinary determination toward "Red Pearl."
KBS 2TV's new daily drama "Red Pearl," directed by Kim Seonggeun and written by Kim Seojeong, set to premiere on the 23rd at 7:50 p.m., is a work that depicts a meticulous and intense chronicle of revenge in which two women who return under false identities reveal the sins and truths hidden in the Adel family.
Kim Kyungbo plays Park Minjun, head of Adel Group's headquarters, a character with a devoted love that looks to only one person. Kang Da Bin brings energy to the drama as the free-spirited and bubbly Park Hyunjun. In addition, Cheon Heeju transforms into the villain Choi Yuna, who has endless greed and jealousy, further heightening the tension of the drama.
Kim Kyungbo said, "I wanted to try playing a character who loves only one person, and I felt this project was a good opportunity," explaining his reason for appearing. He added that he was impressed by the narrative in which characters are constantly shaken between revenge and love, noting the work's appeal.
Kang Da Bin said, "Park Hyunjun looks like a free spirit on the outside, but the character's deeply held inner thoughts and emotions resonated strongly with me," and Cheon Heeju said, "Yuna is a character whose way of thinking and behavior are the exact opposite of mine, so she was more interesting. She makes choices I wouldn't ordinarily make without hesitation, so I think I can show a new side of myself," expressing her anticipation.
Regarding the aspects he focused on for this production, Kim Kyungbo explained, "Park Minjun is a character who lives with past wounds, so I worked to ensure emotions suppressed inside are expressed naturally. There are more emotions conveyed through the eyes and breathing than through words, so I prepared delicately."
Meanwhile, Kang Da Bin added that "Park Hyunjun could easily come across as light or like a gag, so I worked hard to set a 'light but weighty' tone," offering a three-dimensional interpretation of the character, and Cheon Heeju, who transforms into a fierce villain, said, "I intensely wrestled with why Choi Yuna made those choices so I could first be convinced myself," conveying how much she prepared and worked for the role, making viewers eager for the premiere.
Kim Kyungbo also pointed out an expectation for the work, saying, "The romance and the characters' emotions are densely layered within the drama, so there's enjoyment in how relationships change," and Kang Da Bin said, "I think it will be a drama where viewers can enjoy a hearty, refreshing spicy taste." Cheon Heeju expressed confidence, saying, "The story moves quickly while not losing the emotional line, so you can sink in deeply."
