Actress Eva Mendes revealed the only thing that makes her husband Ryan Gosling jealous, drawing laughter. The culprit was none other than an "alien."
Mendes recently commented on Gosling's promotional post for his new film Project Hail Mary on social media, saying, "The only one I was jealous of is... Rocky." She added, "They spent so much time together. They even shared rings. What on earth!" expressing playful jealousy.
Project Hail Mary is a sci-fi film produced by Amazon MGM Studios, in which the scientist "Dr. Grace," played by Gosling, collaborates with an alien life form named "Rocky" in space to save humanity from extinction. The core narrative centers on the two beings connecting beyond language and species.
Gosling has worked with leading Hollywood actresses such as Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Emily Blunt. But fans laughed at the fact that the person Mendes said she was "jealous" of was not a real actor but an animated character.
The two became romantically involved after filming the 2011 movie The Place Beyond the Pines, and they have two daughters. They are reported to have held a private wedding in 2022. Mendes, who has always strictly protected her private life, has said she does not disclose her children's and husband's daily life.
Gosling has also openly shown his affection for Mendes in several interviews. He once confessed, "Before meeting Eva, I had no intention of having children," and said, "Now everything has meaning." When one of them has filming schedules, they have been noted for "partnership parenting," taking turns to focus on childcare.
Meanwhile, Gosling-led Project Hail Mary is scheduled to open on Mar. 20.
