In "When We Meet 4," Yu Jae-seok was thoroughly roasted by his 30-year friend Song Eun I's revelations.
On the 10th episode of SBS variety show When We Meet season 4, confessions and heartfelt support among longtime friends produced both laughter and emotion.
That day Kim Sook confessed, "Something happened to me recently," recalling the year-end awards ceremony. She said, "Song Eun I unnie always cheered me on every year, saying, 'You can win the grand prize.' But when KBS called Song Eun I unnie's name as the winner of the best performer award, she said she didn't even know she was a nominee," and added, "Seeing the unnie who always supported me receive an award 33 years after her debut was so moving," which moved people deeply.
In response Yu Jae-seok rallied, "Let's get Song Eun I the grand prize once," and Song Eun I burst out laughing, "By what means would that happen?" She went on to joke, "I have so little luck with awards that I couldn't even win a best newcomer award."
The mood soon shifted to anecdotes about Yu Jae-seok's past at awards ceremonies. Song Eun I revealed, "When Yu Jae-seok won the newcomer award he wore a designer suit. His circumstances weren't comfortable, yet he even bought two of them," prompting laughter across the set. Yu Jae-seok shot back, "Even if I had been a nominee for the newcomer award, I wouldn't have won. I was struggling to pay installments," responding in kind.
He added, "Still, in his 50s he won a newcomer award with his alter ego 'Yoo San-seul'," provoking uproarious laughter. The realistic memories shared by the three who have spent many years together and their sincere support for one another added warmth.
