Netflix has confirmed production of a new series, "1/24 Romance," and announced the casting of Shin Hae-sun, Na In-woo, Yun Kyun-sang and Lee Joo-woo.
Netflix's series "1/24 Romance" is a romantic comedy in which variety show producer Cha Joo-an (Shin Hae-sun), whose work and daily life are both "variety," and tennis player Yoo Do-jin (Na In-woo), a successful "cleanliness-obsessed" athlete, switch bodies for exactly one hour a day without warning. Cha Joo-an, who lives fiercely but puts her own happiness on the back burner, and Yoo Do-jin, a "trend" player with exceptional skill who has deleted joy from his life, will experience a sudden "one hour" soul swap that is expected to elicit excitement and empathy amid cheerful laughter for these two very different people.
Above all, expectations are high for a fresh romantic comedy completed by a production team with "maximum rom-com prowess." Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, "1/24 Romance" is directed by Kim Sang-hyup, who was loved for works such as Melancholia, True Beauty and Extraordinary You, and written by Han Seol-hee and Hong Bo-hee, who earned praise for deftly navigating realism and comedy in Business Proposal and the My Lovely Kim Series, raising the show's completeness. Attention is especially focused on the reunion of Shin Hae-sun and Na In-woo, who previously worked together on Mr. Queen. Shin Hae-sun gives a passionate performance as Cha Joo-an, a variety show producer whose work and life are entertainment itself. Shin Hae-sun vividly portrays Cha Joo-an's transformation as she lives Yoo Do-jin's one hour through a soul swap. Known for redefining her career characters with distinctive acting, Shin Hae-sun's performance in this work is highly anticipated to win over the public once again.
Na In-woo transforms into the promising "cleanliness-obsessed" tennis player Yoo Do-jin. Although he is a spotlighted tennis player riding a wave of success, he led a flawless life until he spends one hour a day in Cha Joo-an's body, where "control" is hard to find, confronting a "variety" world and changing. Na In-woo is expected to amplify the charm of Yoo Do-jin, who is outwardly cold and resolute but deeper than anyone inside.
Yun Kyun-sang plays Go Tae-hoon, Yoo Do-jin's agency director and a close older brother figure who stays by his side. Always attracting attention with a gentle smile but careful to set boundaries and not give his heart easily, he becomes entangled with Choi Mi-hyang, who has entered his heart, and faces the greatest crisis of his dating expertise. In particular, expectations are focused on Yun Kyun-sang's return to romantic comedy.
Lee Joo-woo brings energy as Choi Mi-hyang, Cha Joo-an's close friend and housemate who is a fellow variety writer. With a warm and honest personality, Choi Mi-hyang, who lost her romantic illusions while being buried in work and is a lifelong single, begins to awaken her dating instincts after meeting Go Tae-hoon. From her close chemistry with Shin Hae-sun to a unique romance with Yun Kyun-sang, Lee Joo-woo's diverse charms are eagerly awaited.
