Actor Kim Jeong-hwa opens her brilliant 2026 activities with the play "Schumann."
The play "Schumann" is set in 1853 Düsseldorf, Germany, and is based on the true story of master Robert Schumann, his wife Clara Schumann, and the young genius Johannes Brahms. It vividly portrays the artistic ambitions and sublime love among the three musicians and was greatly loved at its premiere.
Clara Schumann, played by Kim Jeong-hwa, was a pioneering figure who proved herself by ability in the male-dominated classical music world. On this stage, she will delicately and resolutely portray Clara's inner life as an independent artist who protected her life and music, not "someone's wife."
Ahead of the opening, Kim Jeong-hwa said, "I am preparing with an excited heart to meet you after a long time with the beautiful music and heartbreaking love story of the play "Schumann." I am working hard to create a great production with wonderful actors, so please look forward to it."
Alongside her artistic work, Kim Jeong-hwa recently renewed her contract with her current agency, Kenneth Company, continuing a path of trust. This renewal was achieved based on the deep trust built since signing an exclusive contract in 2023, and Kim Jeong-hwa plans to use this as a starting point to present more stable and diverse activities.
Earlier, since debuting in 2000, Kim Jeong-hwa left behind many hits such as "New Nonstop" and "Stove League," and has spread positive influence through consistent sponsorship activities and running social enterprises. With news of the contract renewal and her return to the theatrical stage, public expectations for Kim Jeong-hwa's future moves are rising.
Meanwhile, the play "Schumann," in which Kim Jeong-hwa appears, will be performed at the Daehangno The Good Theater in Seoul from Feb. 14 to April 12.
