'Chosun's lover' singer Taejin-ah shared an update on his wife Ok-gyeong's condition and expressed a desperate heart toward his wife, who was recently diagnosed with severe dementia.
Earlier, Taejin-ah appeared on last Sept.'s episode of Shikgaek Heo Yeong-man's baekban trip and said, "My wife has been suffering from dementia for six years," adding, "It seems her condition has stopped thanks to the support." At the time, he showed tenderness by putting his photos around the house and revealing a routine of gently holding his wife's hand all day.
However, about five months later a preview of TV CHOSUN's Chosun's lover showed a dramatically changed situation. According to the production team, the wife is currently in a severe state of dementia and is said to have reached a stage where meaningful communication is difficult.
Taejin-ah chose "reminiscence therapy" to revive his wife's memory. The preview video showed him arriving at a New York airport and visiting the apartment where the two once lived and the places where they had businesses. It was an attempt to stimulate memories by revisiting spaces filled with memories from their younger days.
Standing in front of the camera, he could not contain his emotions. His tearful plea, "Please make Ok-gyeong get better," left viewers feeling heavy-hearted.
As the preview was released, netizens reacted with comments such as, "Seeing him do his best as a husband is heartbreaking," "I hope the two of them can smile again like a miracle," and "This kind of love is rare. Sending support," offering comfort and encouragement.
There is growing interest in whether the desperate plea of a husband who has stayed by her side for many years will be conveyed. The program will be aired on Monday the 16th as a Lunar New Year special of TV CHOSUN's Chosun's lover.
